I'll starts by saying that this comedy is great, might be crude, but hey, this is my type of festive Christmas comedy for me. The characters remind me of the Simpsons, but flipped to be the Australian family from hell, with unusual antics which no normal family would encounter, ever!, especially how the dog gets torched by the Barbie, or the business with the chickens. I always liked Jack, as the mean grandpa, with a black heart against drugs and bugs, we know why we hates bugs (winking). Well, if you don't want to upset your Christmas pudding this Christmas, avoid this, but watch it AFTER Christmas pudding, you'll "crack" up with hysterics, it's like comparing Bad Santa but with a family situation and no security chief with a smarta** for a kid and, without the F word. This movie puts Australians back on our turf.Rated M15+ for Aussies for Drugs, Sex, Violence and Language

This film was a typical p***take comedy. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was funny, sad and typically Australian. My mum cried all the way through it. My dad was pleasantly surprised (he doesn't watch TV much). I think it was really a great film that everyone should see.

I have to admit I was disappointed with this movie. One or two scenes were screamingly funny (the barbie scene, for example) but overall I felt this to be just a couple of great scenes bolted together by a very weak plot. Warren Mitchell's Glasgow accent was terrible (and pointless - it added nothing to either the plot or the humour of the film). Without Mitchell however, this movie would be completely devoid of any interest at all. One for the Warren Mitchell completist, perhaps. 2 marks.

Don't let a weak title and unimaginative video cover fool you! This movie is solid and exceptionally funny - belly achingly funny in places.Tenseness surrounds the Christmas Lunch at the parent's place. A divorced daughter has brought her new lover. Dad is not impressed. Everyone is on edge. An unwelcomed and rogue-larrikin (great) Grandfather (Warren Mitchell) also arrives. His great grandson is taught new lessons in life. The family barbecue is absolutely side splitting!A very comical and credible script makes this movie a great treat. I would rate all performances as very strong. It doesn't have to be Christmas for you to watch and enjoy this movie.....it could well relate to any family reunion. I would rate this movie 8 out of 10.
