atinder Here was another Found footage movies. I have seen half of the movie before as it cameo on little late few years ago, I could not get into at time. Now that I was in Mood to watch Found footage movie, i thought this was really good.I found that the movie flowed really well and I didn't get bored at all, thinking the movie was bit too long at times there were some good decent creepy moment in this movie that I really liked. Also really liked effects in this movie was very good and knew that twist that coming, I loved the back story of the movie was really good. The only thing that really lets the movie down is Abysmal acting from the whole cast, if you can get past that , it might enjoy the rest of the movie. 5/10
justin-mendygral This is a descent scary movie, but the actors are terrible. The creepy church girl shows her breasts in the movie which is a plus and common for horror movies like this one. It will give you goosebumps if you can sit through it with the acting...or lack of it. It has a "Paranormal Activity" vibe, but again where PA was believable due to the acting this one does the opposite. At no point will you forget you're watching a movie. Another funny point is that Carter's computer has electrical tape over the brand. Another one of those amateurish issues with the movie. It would have been better to just leave that part our than draw attention to the fact they didn't permission to use the trademark. Lastly, the audio isn't very good. I had to turn the volume up and down throughout the movie. Some of the actors like the journalist always seemed to be loud and Carter was quiet. The videographer dropped the f- bomb almost every sentence...and it was extremely noticeable unlike Scarface, Goodfellas, etc. which this is obviously not.
PandoraTheEverCurious Death of a Ghost Hunter is one of the B horror flicks that goes straight to DVD without anyone ever hearing about it. Well I had wanted to check it out on Netflix for quite a while because of the creepy cover art for the flick and I decided, why the hell not and just watched it, thinking if anything I would get a laugh out of it. Yes it is one of those cheesy half fake documentary half actual regular film movies but it actually really works well. The special effects are complete crap, but you can look past that into the messed up storyline that the movie brings up. Typical ghost, haunted house flick, with a freaking surprise ending. I must say I'm impressed that this little independent film was so interesting. It had me interested throughout the entire film. It tied up all the lose ends at the very end which made the plot come together nicely. I would definitely recommend this film to someone who is looking for an interesting movie to watch. It's a little scary (IMHO) but not scary enough that you couldn't sleep afterward.
BigBobFoonman Yeah, well......yes...some of the acting is a textbook example of the fact that some folks got it, some folks don't.....I thought Patti was good...she is an actress, she passes basic training, and she has beautiful legs---that scene where she was writing her log in bed wearing a man's white shirt, took my breath away....yikes! The 2 other gals really don't have the chops---they are community theatre stock and oughta stay there, even tho the journalist gal certainly has the sex factor going for her.....the guy, the videographer, he was OK......he delivered his lines as if they were the first time he was saying them, and seemed natural enough. The story was good....very interesting....and maybe I'm a dullard, but the major plot point of the "religious expert" and her origin escaped me and was a surprise at the end. I enjoyed the film, overall, and the blurred image effects were creepy....we are overdue for a major film about these cheesy TV ghosthunters getting keel-hauled by something very far beyond entertainment, legend and speculation.BTW.....the special effects were SPOT-ON......admit it.....the little girl peaking around the door freakin' nailed me.......
