santhosh-10290 The movie was good. Songs were not at all good. BGM were good in the movie. SRK wonderful acting. The movie was interesting and thrilling. The climax was the main twist in the movie. But some scenes in the movie are so boring.
DG_Boy Awesome film.I love it and one of my favourite film.Direction was good from farhan akhtar. The screenplay was good. The location and cinematography were good. And awesome awesome and terrific dialouges.Loved the dialouges man.All the dialouges were terrific. The editing was awesome. The movie is a little long but I swear not even a second I feeled bored. The movie rocks from start till end.The suspense was awesome.Better than amitabh don.The songs were awesome and nice. The acting was terrific from King Khan (Srk). This kinda roles suits to him and he should do more movies like and he he done like don 2 and raees both of these were awesome.Priyanka Chopra and Lara dutta acted good.kareena kapoor was OK in her small role.Overall an awesome film to come out from bollywood.I am waiting for don 3 because don 2 has already released and it's awesome.A must watch.
Prabhat Kumar Shukla First of all,I have never liked remakes and feel they should never be made but when this movie's promo came..i thought that this would be interesting to watch, but some days prior to release i watched the original don and was absolutely mesmerized by Amitabh's performance in the movie which gave him the Filmfare best actor award.Of course, the best thing about original version was it's unpredictability as we never knew what is going to happen, that's why i think that a suspense movie like don should not be remade. in the new version we know everything that will unfold except a couple of twists with one in the climax, which makes the movie boring, to be honest. After 2 good movies Dil Chahta Hai and Lakshya, Don is the weakest attempt of Farhan Akhtar, the music and background score by Shankar Ehsaan Loy is good though just like the original version. Now for performances, Shahrukh is OK as don but sucks as Vijay, maybe he just can't relate to Vijay's character which probably Amitabh easily did being a Chora Ganga Kinaare Waala himself(pun intended) as he's from Allahabad, even in don's role Shahrukh blatantly overacts in some scenes to be honest, to be straightforward he's incomparable to Amitabh in the original..no offence for Shahrukh fans but he was way better in movies like Chak De India,Swades,Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi,My Name Is Khan, DDLJ, Baazigar, Darr.. Priyanka is good though, Arjun is OK,Boman is OK but overacts in the climax,Om Puri is wasted as he has no role!!, Isha Koppikar's got nothing to do..While the original don unfolded at a feverish pace with excellent acting and dialogues by Amitabh, it was a taut thriller hence keeping everyone glued to their seats throughout, this one is slow and boring most of the time, and the copied dialogues from original don is a bad idea. But the new movie does have a different style, the action scenes are OK.At box office this movie was a moderate success not like the original don which was a Superhit, this movie was a moderate success also due to Sharukh's popularity overseas while this movie was a below average fare in India but a Superhit overseas..making it a moderate success overall, and also the factor that many people watched it to see how Shahrukh's steps into Amitabh's shoes.Watch it if you are a die hard Shahrukh fan or like style over substance, but if you've seen original don you can clearly feel how much better the original was..
Chrysanthepop Many seem to have loved this flick but I found it to be average at best. Nothing memorable but not too bad for a remake. Farhan Akhter decorates 'Don' with high tech visuals, slick action sequences, gloss and glamour. He opts for a different (but still predictable) ending compared to the prequel. Yet, it falls short of being among the best films of the year. 'Don' had potential to be a lot better but it lacks heart. I wouldn't call it an improvement over Farhan's debut venture 'Dil Chahta Hai'. I admit that it's unfair to compare these two totally different films but the reason I mention it is because there are far more flaws in 'Don'. The chase scenes drag on and they're very repetitive. The pace is very slow at times. Some editing could have been helped.Shahrukh is quite convincing as 'Don'. This isn't his best but it's good enough. However, he doesn't seem to have a strong chemistry with any of the female leads. This was a big surprise to me because no matter how his movie or acting is in other movies, he always managed to maintain a strong chemistry with the ladies. I think this is more the actress's fault because they don't impress. Priyanka Chopra appears to be clueless (she doesn't have chemistry with any of the cast member let alone Shahrukh Khan) and in a few scenes with Vijay, she seems to be copying Juhi Chawla. Moreover, her fight scenes were laughable. Ishaa Koppikar barely has a role to speak of. Kareena Kapoor delivers a forgettable performance and her item number is disastrous while her death scene is hilarious. Arjun Rampal is equally forgettable. Boman Irani and Om Puri are adequate. The music is strictly OK, with a few exceptions: 'Yeh Mera Dil' and 'Khaike Paan' being the worst and 'Aaj ki Raat' being the best.'Don' has an okay screenplay, mediocre (to bad) performances, some interesting visuals, mostly forgettable music and very few good action scenes. I didn't like it so much and I don't think I would ever want to watch it again. Once is enough.
