Tori Jaymes This is the first time I've written a comment to IMDb so don't accuse me of self-promoting anything. I watched FILTHY and will give it credit for a lot of things. First of all, Jennifer Bass as DANA played the part perfectly. She portrayed an excellently typical ladder-climbing, self-centered, business-suited, ratings-chaser, pantyhosed-cat of an anchor-babe (with a touch of germaphobic syndrome disorder thrown in for fun) who is so driven for an exclusive story that she lets herself get duped into a trap where she gets her cum-uppance through torture both mental and physical. A little revenge in the end polishes off the story. Who doesn't like to see "her kind" done in by any means possible?I mean, get real. What else do you need or are you looking for here? We get to see a bitchy, uptight, power-hungry ultra femme get taken down a notch or two—maybe even three. That does it for me. Admittedly, even I would have liked to see her stripped completely down but then again, (and maybe this is a girl thing) I would have shaved her head as a total humiliation but we all can't have everything we want in a movie.Everybody else played the part required as deviants doing decadent things that deviants do. That is what the film is about. Films of this nature are what they are—low budget, basic raw entertainment. I liked it.
w00f A creative, succinct, excellent film. While amateurish in spots (due to a low budget and it's being an initial effort), the cast is excellent and the story is one-of-a-kind. It would be well worth any horror fan's time to travel far off the beaten path to see this film.I look forward to what the future holds for Lalino and the rest of his cadre with giddy anticipation. More! Encore!!!
chuckc1 ...i saw this piece of crap at Chicago's legendary Three Penny Cinema last night as part of the "Chicago Horror Film Festival". It is SO amateurish, ill-concieved, badly shot, and derivative, that one can't help but think that this is exactly what the film makers were shooting for.Emptying catheter bag on faces, bobbing for scrotum, eating out of a freshly vomited into bed pan, and fingers removed with cigar cutter cauterized with a cigarette...this covers a lot of ground in 32 minutes. I laughed a lot...a kinda neat little Halloween surprise.
Brandon7221 Forget the blood and guts of classic horror -- knives, axes etc...no, think more in terms of "Faces of Death". The edgy, fast paced story following a doomed newscaster walks the tightrope of grotesque.Blood, guts, excremant, and the creative use of hand-held hole-punchers -- it's there to make you squirm. These are "throwback" filmmakers to the works of classic horror (Carpenter for instance), not some cheasy, cliche that Hollywood cranks out with teenagers from the WB sitcoms. The short film has all of the makings of a successful cult film - great editing, sound and strong cinematography. The strength of the film is really the two leads: Jennifer Bass and Shari Lawrence. This is an emotional rollercoaster of fear and nausea which is handled perfectly by these two actresses. Now, the question is whether you can stomach it or not.The supporting cast did a good job and the musical score is an homage to "Halloween". You want to look away, but you can't -- you don't want to miss anything.Enjoy it -- just don't eat first.
