Synopsis

Captures a generational moment - young people on the cusp of truly growing up, tiring of their reflexive cynicism, each in their own ways struggling to connect and define what it means to love and be loved. Six New Yorkers juggle love, friendship, and the keenly challenging specter of adulthood. Sam Wexler is a struggling writer who's having a particularly bad day. When a young boy gets separated from his family on the subway, Sam makes the questionable decision to bring the child back to his apartment and thus begins a rewarding, yet complicated, friendship. Sam's life revolves around his friends — Annie, whose self-image keeps her from commitment; Charlie and Mary Catherine, a couple whose possible move to Los Angeles tests their relationship; and Mississippi, a cabaret singer who catches Sam's eye.

Eddie Cantillo Happythankyoumoreplease (2010) Starring: Josh Radnor, Malin Akerman, Kate Mara, Zoe Kazan, Pablo Schreiber, Richard Jenkins, Dana Barron, Jimmy Gary Jr., Michael Algieri, Jakob Appelman and Tony Hale Directed By: Josh Radnor Review GO GET YOURSELF LOVED Hello Kiddies your pal The Cupid Critic here on valentines Day, my most loneliest time of year. I hope you are reading this cause I want to know, How can I always try so hard to win a girls heart but fail either they have a boyfriend or leave the state. But why is it always me? I am a man who as a child met a friend( who was my substitute teacher) she taught me about love by showing it to me through her kindness, sweet smile and warmth. I've been a head over heels romantic ever since, and have tried to meet someone who reminds me of her so I can call them my wife. It's my dream to become a film critic and have a beautiful wife who reminds me of her. But this film has taught me one thing I can still no matter what Get Myself Loved(even if I'm still hung up on the past three hearts I've tried to steal) I will Get Myself Loved. On his Way to a meeting, aspiring novelist Sam Wexler(Radnor) finds Rasheen, a young boy separated from his family on the subway. When Rasheen refuses to be left with social services, Sam has learned the boy has been placed in six previous foster homes and agrees to let Rasheen stay with him. Dropped into Sam's chaotic bachelor lifestyle, Rasheen is introduced to Sam's circle of friends:Annie(Malin Akerman) who has a pattern of dating the wrong men, Mary-Catherine(Zoe Kazan) and Charlie(Pablo Schreiber) whose potential move to Los Angles threatens their relationship, and Mississippi(Kate Mara) an aspiring singer/waitress who tests Sam's fear of commitment. As Sam's unlikely friendship with Rasheen develops, he realize adulthood is not about waiting for the life you want, but simply stumbling ahead and making it happen along the way. I saw this film specifically for the writer, director and star of the picture Josh Radnor. I am a big fan of his because he has always played characters who have the same aspect of a romantic(Ted from How I met Your Mother) and someone who doesn't act or feel his age and is depressed(Jesse from Liberal Arts) characters I feel are a lot like me. I don't act my age because of my mentality, I am often depressed because I am a guy who is a head over the heels romantic but he never gets to show that side. The film was interesting because of it's ingenious inspiration of not just being man sees girl, girl falls for man and a tragedy happens. This is real love, it takes commitment. Characters are deep sadness with their lives and relationships but stick it through and try to listen and do what they can for the others who love them. I was very moved by Radnor's Akerman and Mara's performance they were a joy when they were on-screen. Radnor is a good director his next picture he made after this(Liberal Arts) may be better but this has it's own magical touch and he always likes to film in New York city and he makes it look amazing. Happythankyoumoreplease is a sharp comedy with deep characters, and deserves more recognition, I'm giving Happythankyoumoreplease a five out of five.
tieman64 "Happythankyoumoreplease" is a weak film from writer-director Josh Radnor. It contains a series of loosely connect short stories, most involving characters or couples struggling to grow up, cast off their cynicism, transcend expectations or muster the courage to wrestle with big life decisions. The film's best moments involve an alopecia patient (and the chubby middle aged man who adores her), and a budding writer who takes a neglected child under his wing. This latter subplot should have been the film's focus – all Rador's other subplots are entirely generic.Like Radnor's subsequent film, the excellent "Liberal Arts", "Happythankyoumoreplease" is obsessed with writers. Here Radnor plays a writer of short stories who is himself trapped in a film comprised of short stories. The film's great metaphor is that all these characters live in self imposed "short stories", stuck in narrow, preconceived boxes which they refuse to let themselves escape. The film then ends with these characters casting off "short stories" (more please!) in favour for "something longer"; they essentially resolve to let novelistic-like complexity into their lives. It's a great metaphor, but Radnor's a novice of a director and can't do much with the idea.7/10 – Worth one viewing.
CJ 101 I'm seeing a dozen reviews griping about all the clichés, and of course, none of them actually spell out a single one they found.. This film 'zigs' when you suspect it might a zag. The characters all had memorable lines, and I'm surprised there are more of them in the "Quotes" section. Radnor's made an impressive directorial debut, but I agree he seems a tad wooden in his acting. He leaves the heavy lifting to Kate Mara and Malin Ackerman.. The star though, is Tony Hale, swinging for the fences in his affections for Ackerman's character. In the battle of 'sitcom actors turned cinema auteurs', he takes a slight lead over Zach Braff, though I'm interested in seeing more from both.. Watch this, and ignore all those people who are so jaded, they see a cliché in a person walking down the street to music. People do things like that! Deal with it.
Duderina First I want to say that I loved this movie! The actors were amazing and the script was to! My compliments to Josh Radnor. At first it did remind me a bid of a Woody Allen movie (im sure i wasn't the only one). But Josh has his own style. The dialogue was great, not to over dramatic and funny in some ways. The characters were people you can really relate to and they are understandable. The story itself wasn't really the most original one I've every heard but the way it was written was good. It never gets boring and when you're watching the movie you really want to know happens next to the characters. Each character gets enough time on screen so you get to 'know' and understand them. I would recommend this movie to everybody, it's fun and again, the actors (especially Josh Radnor) are amazing.
