tradewithmewp I'll start by saying there's nothing wrong with the acting. Acting is the least of this movies' worries, and that's kind of saying something. The way the movie was executed was extremely poor. Things aren't fully explained, and the movie likes to go back and forth between the two parallel universes as well as jump back and forth between past and future. (Which was completely unnecessary!)First person shooter POV was a horrible idea, but I don't think I need to add on any more complaints this movie has already received.Even the most action-y parts of this film were boring. I really don't suggest watching this unless you have nothing better to do. I'm an extremely lazy person but the movie was so bad that I went out of my way to write this review.
Mork_the_Borg Mmm... I was struggling between rating this movie a 1 or a 2. Sorry guys, but this movie reminded my of the movie called Doom. It's like watching someone play an absolutely boring computer game that just doesn't want, or seem to end. Where's the depth? Where's the acting? Where's... well... to say it blunt... a movie worth watching? The only reason I scored it a 2 was because of some of the special effects, but even those seemed "borrowed" from some other movies (the drones just make me think Terminator the moment they popped up on the screen). The best thing about this whole movie is a small blooper, where someone was slowly opening a door behind the actors in what was obviously a normal street somewhere in downtown Holland. Try redoing the whole movie in VR and maybe it will be worth playing, but as a movie I just don't see the point, or simply are not getting it. A movie made for 12 year old kids that enjoy playing first-person-shoot-em-games, but even for those kids, I wonder if they would actually enjoy watching this movie. My guess is that they would prefer playing an actual game instead!
akimbobyte I have never written a movie review before, but this movie is so bad it should have contained a warning from the Surgeon General that watching it may cause cancer! The premise could have been turned into a great film. Instead, it mutated into a First Person video game with plot holes almost as thick as the character development was thin.
djg32514 Actually the premise is pretty good. Special effects, cgi first rate but acting, especially the female lead - terrible. Impression I got was similar to a YouTube video shot with a GoPro. Jerky, not very illuminating and really distracting. The idea of an echo universe "created" but devoid of all life is interesting I guess, but surprise, it is a duplicate including all the bad actors. Oh and script! Did I mention dialog was really lame?? And "scientific" explanation for how the universe works supposedly by a world-renowned physicist was so lame a first physics major would know better. Story would have been better without the pseudo science explanation, well commercial really. All in all, even as a sci-fi fan I had a hard time watching this. If one has nothing better to do I suppose one could kill 2 hours but think I would rather play online poker lol.
