grizz3344 10/10 for this movie. I totally loved it.. every death scene was great. I was shocked at many parts. The first one, was went Alex was betrayed by her own brother and drowned in the pond outback. I really thought she'd make it to the end. She was strong, and beautiful. I never really expected Brent to get as far as he did... especially when he was shot... as for that cry baby, he should have gone sooner as far as im concerned. Jennifer's character shocked me the MOST. She always seemed so innocent and adorable. I wasn't a fan of hers, but i was truly shocked when she tried to kill her boyfriend at the end. When Amber was shot, i was really sad. Amber was my favorite. But when she kicked Jen's a**, it was awesome. I was happy Amber made it out. of all people i didn't think she would in the beginning. But if u look back on it, Amber was very sneaky and careful about what she did. She was weak, and thats how she played it out. She kept a calm, clear head until she had to kill towards the end. She killed her ex who left her, and killed the rest of her friends. That was the best death scene of the movie. When she came up from down cellar and read the note, "NO MORE PILLS AMBER. USE THIS..." and she pulled out a gun i was shocked. I thought she was gonna kill them both. But she didn't, instead she got shot which she recovered from later which was pretty shocking and a little too un-realistic. But overall great movie definitely worth watching. Carlos was another one to watch die :( I liked him, but i knew his personality would make him one of the first to go. And i was even more sure of that when his girlfriend died. My prediction was right, Carlos didn't think with a clear mind which is why he didn't make it in the end, and Amber did.
Boba_Fett1138 Seriously, how do some people think they'll get noticed and earn lots of money and respect with such an average and formulaic movie such as this one.Yes, I'll admit that I'm definitely fed up at this point by horror/slasher movies that feature a group of young, perfect looking, college students. Of course there is also still the obligatory fat guy, who also happens to be the only single of the group and is the only one that likes to play video games. It's amazing how these kids still seem to worry about their relationships and other personal stuff, while their friends are all being killed one by one, in front of them. The movie of course still starts out happy, in which the kids are preparing themselves for a week full of liquor and careless sex. God, I'm so glad I have never hung out with a sort of friend-group as got portrayed in this movie. But of course the movie is not just being formulaic with its characters but also with its story. Lots of people seem to compare it to modern torture horror movies but guess that no one has seen the Japanese movie "Batoru rowaiaru", that pretty much uses the same concept as this movie. So no, obviously this movie isn't being a very original one but on top of that, the story is also just far too weak to consider it ever really a believable enough one. Seriously, the reason why the killer is messing with these kids is just way out there and frankly I just didn't buy into his silly motivations. But also the way these kids are handling the whole situation feels at all times far from likely. None of them are predictable, which sounds like a good thing but in this case isn't really. Whenever you think someone is good and the movie is going to focus on him/her and treat him/her as the hero of the movie, he/she does something incredibly immoral and you start to no longer care for any of the characters and whether or not they are going to survive. But still, it remains a pretty decent made genre movie, that is certainly good looking and also features some nice gore and killings. But in this case this still isn't really being enough to please the fans of the genre. It doesn't save the movie, it just spices up things a little at times. And it's a real shame, since the movie gives you the feeling that it still could had been a pretty original and interesting one, had it done more with its concept and perhaps had some better written characters in it. If you want to see this movie done well, I suggest you go see "Batoru rowaiaru".5/10http://bobafett1138.blogspot.com/
shark-43 KILL THEORY has an interesting premise - which has been done many times before - but aside from one or two actors, the general cast is full of pretty boys and girls who were very amateurish actors. Nothing going on in their eyes, monotone line readings and when many of them have to have moments of hysteria and panic - not one real MOMENT, no real tears - just ACTING - just people saying look at me ACT - do you believe ANY of this? Nope - not one bit. And my friends and I were laughing because it seemed that the director might have told the young cast when moments of murder and terror happen to "just wing it - just ad-lib" so literally every other word is the f-bomb, "what the f**k?" "are you f**king kidding me?" "f**k you!" There was more cussing in this than a Richard Pryor concert film and it added NOTHING. You could play a drinking game that every time they say f88k, you take a shot of booze but then you'd be...dead. And the cliché voice of the killer is some tired SAW-like copy - just once how about the killer sounds weak and nebbish? Just to shake things up a bit. The two blonde female leads were interchangeable but I swear one of them must be on Vicodin - you never such low energy, no spark readings in your life. If you wanna ride through Horror Cliché Town, grab a seat. KILL THEORY is an idea searching for a better script and some professional actors.
Scarecrow-88 A criminal is released on parole after serving time for an incident while mountain climbing when he cut the rope that sent three of his friends falling to their doom. This culminates in a night where the man released sets up a game with a group of affluent, yuppie soon-to-be college graduates staying at the home of their host's father's posh summer place. During the evening, the kids, who seemed to be in high spirits and anxious for the prominent future, will be given a choice, one will be able to survive while the others must perish, cut off as the killer's friends were, his testing a "kill theory" where he sees how much one values his/her life, willing to sacrifice their own in order to make it out alive. So we watch as they pick apart each other, loyalties divided, betrayal and backstabbing, seeing first hand the true nature of many when facing extinction. We see a gun juggled around as it controls the possibility of who lives and dies. We see attempts at manipulation, while the mastermind behind this whole orchestrated scenario offers others a chance to gain an advantage, also denying anyone an escape from the premises. Six o'clock is the deadline and as the clock ticks, violence and desperation escalates until nearly everyone is dead in one way or another. A shovel is used to bash a face in until it's a bloody pulp. A fireplace poker is plunged into an eyeball and through the skull. A bear trap goes through one victim trying for an ax stuck in a tree stump. A knife is used to stab into the stomach and leg, one particular moment revealing a dark truth about how love can fall by the wayside when time is almost up. What does happen is we do see how true love reigns at the end when one does give his life for another after being double-crossed by who he perceived to be his one-and-only. Like the Saw movies and the genre as a whole where we see humankind's true nature when facing death first-hand, "Kill Theory" follows a select group of individuals and how they react to a crisis. Eventually, among them is one who is willing to pursue whatever lengths necessary to save his/her hide, while another character shows their true colors in a startling, abrupt manner, catching a victim off-guard because the one attacked has no reason to expect his assailant. Mind games are employed as a means to secure a weapon or motivate the more vulnerable to improve their situation. I think movies like "Kill Theory" and "Saw" series will always appeal to a certain crowd who enjoy seeing characters turn on each other, tearing each other apart through actions and words, while hoping to escape the killer's trap(s), falling prey to their own frailties and weaknesses, attempting to resolve a very difficult dilemma which has them in a stranglehold. As is often the case, the killer is always one step ahead of his playthings, the obstacles removing any ability to flee from their captor. Really attractive cast has familiar faces like Agnes Bruckner, Daniel Franzese, and Taryn Manning. Kevin Gage(Chaos)is yet again a serial killer whose face is barely shown, his voice both cold-blooded and to-the-point. As expected, there are a lot of spats and melodramatic relationship problems which play out as the story unfolds and body count rises.
