Boba_Fett1138 The story keeps bumping from one storyline to a completely other and back again. The movie seriously lacks continuity and all of the story lines feel incoherent and pointless. The movie has a disgusting forcing moral message and theme and of course a predictable happy ending. Oh and of course pointless sex and homosexual couples are included in this Dutch movie, almost if like its a MUST for a Dutch movie to have all those elements.I admit, Ruud van Hemert is a great actor director. He really makes the actors give all they got. There is nothing wrong with the acting, it was really good as a matter of fact but van Hemert is an awful story director. The movie never really flows because it features some pointless and unneeded plot lines. Also his sense of humor is extremely awkward and I find it highly unfunny. It's a shame really, because the movie started of actually quite good and I expected to be entertained.Antonie Kamerling and Beau van Erven Dorens are good as leading characters and so is Daphne Bunskoek in her movie debut. Chantal Janzen's character is for some odd reason extremely underused, even though her character plays an important role in the story. Antonie Kamerling went to Hollywood after this movie but the only person who cast him there is Renny Harlin...ha-ha not exactly a good sign!Unfortunately this is a movie filled with some ridicules moments that don't make an awful lot of sense story wise. The story itself is ridicules because it lacks a solid main plot line. All of this combined is what makes this movie an unpleasant one to watch.4/10http://bobafett1138.blogspot.com/
cyclops-8 This movie is an great example of what a dutch movie should be like. The story about friendship as it should be. Two friends that would let nothing get between then that swore to stay single live from one one-night-stand to the other get their friendship tested by one announcing he is gonna get married. The way the story is told is what makes modern Dutch movies great, don't take it all to serious and just be yourself you are crazy enough that way.it is a movie that puts dutch films on the world map and can place itself amongst the modern titles like "Costa", "volle maan" and "van God los" quality Dutch motion pictures.
Glitter-Greet I don't think they could make this movie in Hollywood. No matter who will fill in the cast and crew. Greg Kinnear and Penélope Cruz as main characters and Quentin Tarantino as director, it won't matter. Not even when you would fly Antonie Kamerling and Ruud van Hemert to LA to re-make the film. This is the perfect example of a real Dutch movie. I expected nothing, cause I'm not really Dutch-minded after all, but my god, I love this movie! The story is about two friends, Ben (Beau van Erven Dorens) and Thijs (Antonie Kamerling), who are only chasing women for sex. Until Ben finds the love of his life and wants to get married. Thijs feels betrayed, but when Ben asks him to be the best men on his wedding, Thijs' got the perfect plan to make his own party...!I like the story, I like Antonie Kamerling, but I'm not sure about the rest of the cast... There's Beau van Erven Dorens, who's, in my opinion, a really bad actor, and all these familiar faces for those very little parts. Great actors who just play one or two scenes. If it's not less.I'm not quiet sure about the director either. His movie was great, and I've seen other amazing stuff he made, but somethings I could shoot him. There are, in my opinion, too many mistakes. Just little mistakes, but mistakes I really hate. I don't really know the word in English (cause I'm a Dutch girl with a very low mark for that subject...), but to translate it word to word: director's mistakes. You can see that some scenes took ages to make them perfect. Different haircuts, different clothes...Anyway, after all I really liked this movie. Maybe I misted the Dutch actors watching only Greg Kinnear-films, maybe it was just Antonie Kamerling's lovely smile, I don't know, but I can guarantee this Dutch movie is worth watching!
Paul van Eijden Being skeptic about this film (another Dutch feel-good movie) I was surprised to notice this movie is actually funny to watch. The whole movie has slap-stick humor and doesn't have much depth in it. Of course a feel-good movie doesn't need such depth, it's much better than the standard Hollywood morale producers often need to put in their movies. However if you don't like Dutch comedies, better not watch this one. Note that this movie is directed by the same director who made "Schatjes" and written by the same writer of "All Stars".
