byson5186 I only saw this movie once in 2009, 5 years ago. From what I remember, I didn't like the movie as it isn't the Drake & Josh we know. I mean the show by all means is hilarious, I love the show and I just reviewed it on IMDb, giving it a 10/10. I also really like the other movie they made for this show, Drake & Josh Go Hollywood. That movie was a great action movie they made with the characters Drake & Josh. It even got lots of viewers, and was critically acclaimed, that's awesome!! However, I saw this movie once and did not like it. I'll explain why I don't like it for a few reasons. Again the writing seemed to be different than it was in the show which made the movie less bad. But, in this movie it seems like Drake and Josh are trying to be less selfish, are trying to do things for other people, and nobody likes them or trusts them, even though they didn't do anything that should make them disliked in the first place, and those two were doing everything they can. So, this definitely is not a movie you'd want to see for Christmas even if you are a fan of Drake & Josh, unless you want to know what happens. I give it a 2/10.
Tamarast I thought Dan Schneider could write. This is SO horrible, I begged my son to change the channel. There is nothing worth watching in the entire program. Each actor humiliated themselves and there was not one cliché or pratfall that was overlooked or overacted. The young actors should be embarrassed that they were part of this - the foster kids, the grumpy older brother, the maybe Muslim kid, the fighting sisters, the sick foster mother and then good ol Miranda Cosgrove. Nothing made sense, the jail scene was overacted.I like Drake, like Josh. This is just a mess.Never run this ever again.
platypixo76 Big fan of the show since it came out five years ago, and the first two TV movies were great. But this? It's different. It wasn't really very funny; I laughed maybe five times. The humor was over the top at times and tried too hard to be funny; unlike the show, it just wasn't in a lot of scenes. Josh Peck just isn't Josh Nichols anymore; he not only looks different but IS different. The plot was unbelievable in most instances, and not overly creative. While other Drake and Josh movies/the TV show didn't try to make you learn a lesson, one thing that's nice about them since a lot of kid's TV shows do, this movie definitely did. And the ending was just kind of cheesy, honestly. But, it was Drake and Josh, and seeing both of them together again on screen was kind of nice. They still have that great on screen chemistry that helps pull this movie together. Josh still has his wonderful spazzy moments, and Drake is still an obnoxious, self centered jerk at times.Worth a watch if it's on TV or somewhere, but I wouldn't say buy it. It definitely disappointed me, as I was looking forward to more of the Drake and Josh that you just don't get here.
surfin_papa_smurf I'll be honest, I was pretty surprised and excited when I saw they were making a "Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh". We never really experienced a series finale, so they sort of ended the show in an odd way.To get the point, I'm not impressed. It just, it wasn't Drake & Josh! The directing and script just didn't have the same feel as the series. I wouldn't blame the mostly bad acting as much as I would blame the script. The story was just terrible to say the least. There was no Drake & Josh comedy that we were used to, unless you are 7 years old. I have friends that are 18+ and they got a kick out of the series, but it seemed they were aiming this to very little kids, yet at the same time throwing in bits and pieces that would make no sense to children.I don't want to give away any spoilers by fully explaining some of the characters, but I will say a majority of the actors were horrible actors. I know a lot of people will say, "But they were just kids", well so was Miranda and she was a fantastic actress.I don't know, maybe I'm a hater and I expect nothing but thumbs down, but I'm a long time Drake & Josh fan. I watched it from the start and never stopped, but "Merry Christmas, Drake and Josh" completely disappointed me.
