ruckingham This short movie moves my heart. It is in World War 2 and a boy is main character. He is a German soldier and he found a Jewish girl in occupied house. Although he must catch her, he allows her to escape because of his conscience. We can catch characters feeling easily despite there are few words. For example, the girl's scary appearance looks real. Moreover, the boy's delusion is expressed by moving his eyes confusedly. By looking on her eyes many times, his delusion that he should catch her or not is expressed. In addition, I think that camerawork is nice. The conversation between the two occurs in a hidden hole in the house. It is dark. It is not easy to watch, and it is a very narrow space. There is no other intervention. Therefore, we can concentrate on only the two. Moreover, camerawork is very near to their faces because it is narrow space. To do that, we can feel their breathing and expression clearly.
1003hijuyp When I was in my childhood, I did not have any bias for the world. As I grew up, I have got a lot of bias for things, because I have learned a lot of knowledge including not only useful or good ideas to understand the world, mechanisms of society and so on, but also mean thoughts to protect myself or to have a better position than other people. Perhaps, people call such state "an adult," but actually is it "an adult"? I do not feel so. I think some parts of me have become mature, but others have turned to immature. When I was a child, I could speak to someone without prejudice, but now I cannot. If I were the German boy in the movie, I could not say anything to the Jewish girl because of biases I have, because she is a target of discrimination for Germans at the time. The boy is not as mature as I, because I have had more experiences than he had when he was in 1943, but as for braveness and purity, he is more mature than I. After I watched this movie, I recognized the importance of naïveté, because it does not generate any anti-feeling against anything, and it leads to equality towards anyone. I cannot get back naivety like him and, but I try to communicate with anyone with respect, bravery, and equality. This movie gave me an opportunity to think that.
okk07 I was moved by this movie very much although this movie is only three minutes long. I felt the bond and love between man and woman. I think the situation that a boy is German and a girl Jewish is good because their setting is different and in those dais they was not able to get together. Also, I am interested in that the present connects to the past in this movie through a unicorn. I felt that there are how to write movie like this. Second, I was surprised that this story makes us understand and move although there are few line in this movie. I felt that we can tell feelings of characters by eyes or an expression once more. Also, I felt that we might tell a message in a movie more when there are some dialogue. As a result, I thought this movie is great because this movie tell message directly although this movie is only three minutes long and there are few line. I like this movie very much.
foodie03 I was moved by this film in spite of it only three minutes long. I found it great that such a short movie makes a film very interesting and people got moved. This story is about a German boy and a Jewish girl. After he saved her as a kid, he comes over to her house many decades later. Everyone might be touched with this last scene. He is so gentle and faithful. This film has little dialogue, however, so it is not difficult to catch the story. The unicorn bonds their hearts together. I think 'love' is the theme of this film as well as the representation of the unicorn. Besides, this film encourages us to overcome the race barrier.
