Wizard-8 Reports I've come across indicate that the major players of "Private Resort" are today very embarrassed by the movie - Hector Elizondo, for one, once called it the very worst movie of his career. It doesn't take long upon watching the movie to figure out why Elizondo, Johnny Depp, and Rob Morrow have disowned the results. True, the movie has a lot of nudity (though strangely, no on screen sex), but the stuff around that material is all but unwatchable. It isn't just that the comedy is executed in an especially bad manner, but also how painfully predictable it is; you'll be able to guess most of the gags before they unfold in front of you. There are also some touches here and there that many would consider to be racist or homophobic. Apparently Tri-Star Pictures knew they had a turkey on their hands, since the movie was obviously chopped up in the editing room (the short running time is one clue of this), but also by barely releasing the end product to theaters. Even if for some reason you have a hankering for an 80s youth sex comedy, avoid it, even as a last resort.
whojoedaddy-37901 It's a fun movie that's definitely heavily defined by the 80s. It will not blow you mind, but it will make you laugh. Hope you like slapstick and tits. The first time I saw this was in 2016 and it reminds me of a dumbed down cross between home alone and blazing saddles. My wife disagrees with me and wonders if I've ever seen blazing saddles, so maybe my opinion is sketchy.I really can't believe people were able to write more than a few lines about this movie. It's really just a simple fun movie. I would give it a 6.75/10. A few drinks in or a drinking game adds to the movie going experience.
Victoria Fisher Wow, mood of this movie is so good, that it elated my day today! "Private Resort" is very easy to watch, light plot and ,of course, it is attention-grabbing movie. In my opinion, the main aim of comedies is to make watcher to laugh. This movie did it. Funny moments and situations made me to laugh loudly. Every film must have a moral, even though that film is a comedy. Perhaps strange to say, but I saw a moral here. The idea of the film is good, I don't have reproaches for the idea (or aim) and plot. Unhappy situations were funny and actors appeared very well. Director created marvelous comedy which raise a mood! It was very nice to see a very lovely couple - Ben and Patti. Conventionally, it's always pleasing to the eye to see that comedy finishes good and all bad guys are arrested. I would like to watch it again and I'll recommend it for all my friends. Very pleasant to see Johnny Depp and Rob Morrow. Soundtracks were very musical. Even now they sound in my head. To sum up, movie is worth to see, funny, what is very important for comedy. 10 points!
Danny So you see, there's this movie. And if you watch it, you'll absolutely give up any and all hope for the future of humanity. The whole thing is a moronic titfest with very little tits and even littler of a fest. The attempts at romance and a plot are subpar, and the acting leaves so much to be desired that the phrase "much to be desired" doesn't do it justice. The plot is abysmal, centering around two young men and wackiness at a resort over the weekend. The Maestro wants to steal a diamond, and he is just a very bad thief. Add in a bunch of two dimensional women, and you have a romp that borrows heavily from _Catalina Caper_ and _Porky's_.If you like Johnny Depp or that guy from "Northern Exposure," don't see this movie. If you like Hector Elizondo, stay as far away from this movie as possible. If you like Andrew Dice Clay... then this movie can't really be too much worse for you.I really have to emphasize this just one more time, so please please trust me: DON'T.
