rambhaks I left the theatre being really really disappointed with the film. First of all let me tell you that the story itself is horrible. It's so bad that not even one superhero fan boy, leave alone teenagers, would like it. A terrible plot, so many loopholes, loose ends, illogical sequences, which will take you to a whole new level of boredom and finally a whole new level of disappointment. And I was awestruck by the amount of money spent by the Producers to make this movie! Such huge wastage of funds. You will be more disappointed if you are an SRK fan. Off late he has been giving really sub-standard movies and I really don't understand how he opted for this story. I seriously don't recommend this to anyone.
Rohit Sabnis Investing your money and time in a sci-fi project itself requires a size-able amount of courage and kudos to Shah Rukh Khan to have trusted the script of Ra.One. We see viewers complaining about lack of international films in India n at the same time have no qualms criticizing the person who gave it a push. No hard feeling against the critics but Ra.One stands as the victory of Indian Cinema if you look at the visual effects in the film. The movie begins with game designer Shekhar (SRK) all set to match his son Prateik's expectations of being an ideal father. Sonia ( Kareena Kapoor ) is a passionate Mom but gets stuck between the father's efforts and son's demands. The film takes a turn when Shekhar strikes gold when he creates the virtual catastrophic demon Ra.One in his much anticipated game RA.ONE. The hell breaks loose when this catastrophic villain RA.ONE leaves the virtual world to enter the real world. Shekhar is found dead in his wrecked car thus his death is assumed to be a disastrous car accident. No one has slightest idea about Ra.One behind this calamity. Ra.One sets of to kill his son Prateik aka Lucifer. Now its upto the virtual superhero G.one ( Shah Rukh Khan) to save Prateik. Chammak Challo is Akon at its best. Bhare Naina makes you feel the soul and the emotion behind it. Raftarein gives you an urge to get up an shake a leg. The visual effects are eye poppers. You will find your heart beating really fast during the train sequence where G.one tries to stop an out- of-control train. The screenplay appears flawed at points but it can be well overlooked in front of the innovative concept and technology used in the film. Shah Rukh Khan with his magnum opus RA.ONE has proved himself to be the game changer of Bollywood.
G Singh When it comes to ambition, determination and hard work - there isn't really anyone in India that can compete with SRK. Being Indian cinema's biggest success story, SRK and his films come with huge expectations and anticipation. So it hurts just that much when you see a big film fail.More on that in a bit. I want to say that when Ra One was announced, I was skeptical. Not because it was SRK as a super-hero, I had bigger concerns. My bigger concern was director Anubav Sinha, who I think is amongst the most untalented directors. If you do not believe me, watch Cash and now, Ra One. However, when the release was coming near - I had started to expect more from Sinha. Then, I see this movie which is full of great action sequences, stunts, music and actors. What Ra One lacked most was what a film actually needs - A script, a soul.Shekhar is a video game designer who is out to always impress his son. He is married to Sonia, who for some reason is writing a ridiculous book on abusive language. To impress his son, Shekhar makes a video game character where the bad guy never loses. That game character, Ra One, somehow comes to real life and kills Shekhar and is now out to get Lucifer, the user name of Prateek, Shekhar's son. Circumstances lead Sonia and her son to India where Ra One will follow them, but Ra One will have to go through the protector and good guy of the video game - G One, a lookalike of Shekhar. The story on paper sounds good, in fact, great. To translate that on screen is a total different thing. Ra One seems like a film filled with action scenes but a lack of emotions. Also, how exactly does Ra One get out of the game? Why is he killing everyone? How does he reach India from London? There are some good things about this film. The music is just awesome. The visuals, effects and stunts are Hollywood-like. The film is visually brilliant. Sadly, the positives don't have much to do with the script.Writing is weak. Characters are not well developed except, maybe of SRK. There are a few good lines, though.Vishal-Shekhar's music is out of this world. The songs are all lovely! Dildaara is my pick. Criminal and Chamak Challo are outstanding as well.Anubhav Sinha's direction is sore. I don't know what is in this guy, but he cannot make a good film.SRK has the charisma that is so strong that it shows in a lifeless character of G-One. SRK holds the film together, barely, since it's such a bad movie.Kareena and crew all do okay. Arjun Rampal is convincing.Ovearll - A disappointment and surely a film that could have been better. Sadly, Hindi Cinema still does not have a proper superhero. (Krrish was crap too)
metalcicc I cant sleep well since i saw it! And not only because of the effects!Yes, first time i saw this movie i felt its too much and not enough at the same time. I was really confused about it! Too much information, too much ripped parts, my brain was really filled with it, although at the end i felt some emptiness. But after a while,(few months) i was convinced by i don't know what to watch it again. Second time i began to watch it with ambivalent feelings, i needed it on one hand, on other hand was scared to get bored by it...Its like a drug!!! It came to my mind and became part of me. Since this i take my time regularly to have fun with this movie. A very naive modern art-fiction-creation, with lot of spontaneous (nice!)jokes, good cuttings, marvelous pictures, connections to other stories, traditional customs and deep heart-wrenching contents full of love & pain from the real world!! Fantastic music and dance, Shahrukh-Kareena-Arjun-Armaan are really professional and beautiful in it! I feel like to be a kid again while watching it! All my superhero dreams "came true" again since Batman is dead (for me on the screen - Batman 3 was the last one witch was perfect)! If i would have to say hard critics about this movie: its too short! The scenes where G.One became part of a family (by reincarnation or not:)) were small. After all its a perfect movie yet!!! And i want more from it!!!I can absolutely understand people who don't like it at first sight! Takes time til you get attuned for it!!! Need a bit experience, flexibility and much sense how to accept all those things it want to say to you, and then you get your flow immediately!!!I read many reviews about it, and now I'm a little sad.Cant say its a movie for mass, but for an underground production is it very-very expensive. As far as i feel this is part of the inner child of ShahRukh Khan which had to shown-off already now. Either you appreciate this work of art, and maybe try to watch it trough SRKs eyes, so u can begin to evaluate it, or its not a movie for you, thats all.But wrong crap is it no way, just different... Clichés are ironical with great sense of humour. This movie caught 100% the mood of how a neo-superhero story should be made! Many thanks for all the guys who worked on it!!At least 1 big fan of it is ON!!!
