Jamesgordon_uk After the Cheetah Girls 2 (1 was diabolical, no idea how we got a sequel!) i was losing faith that we would get another "High School Musical" at any time soon. But then, today a movie premiered on DisneyChannel UK that renewed my faith in Disney Channel movies.Although the end was somewhat predictable: the rest of the movie had enough to keep anyone interested. To be entirely fair: i only started watching it because i saw the video for Jordan Pruitt's "Outside looking In", and wanted to hear the song again, so watched the movie. But: if i came for the song, i stayed for the story, the characters and so much more.An ultimate show of the concept that absolute power can corrupt absolutely, in that however hard Jamie tried, she couldn't escape the pull on her that was in effect herself all along. The fact that the villain was her own subconscious made for an interesting plot, which wasn't just your standard tale of "good vs evil, evil quashes good for a while, good wins, the end". Although this is the vague pattern the plot took, there were enough twists and turns in between that it seemed like this was merely a starting point, and thus really didn't effect it as much as it obviously does to some Disney channel movies Very Very Impressed by Kay and Danielle's acting. I think the idea that they used these two sisters who are so close in real life was a great starting point, because it meant that Danielle already had a certain grasp over how Kay's mind worked, and thus it was easier for them to know how to influence each other without it seeming forced on screen.I have to say, although i only came for the song, i cannot wait to see it again. And once the DVD comes out, it will be in my collection!!
Seth Nelson I sit down with my family to watch this so-called "G-rated" movie one summer (this being this summer) because I like my family so much. At first, I didn't even want to come near this movie because it seemed too girlish and embarrassing. So, I viewed at my own risk.I noticed the very familiar motifs this movie had, along with other bad Disney and Disney Channel works at the time: cheerleading, loving, and wicked stuff. But wait!!!!! My brother claimed to hear an OMG hidden somewhere in the movie (not unlike the "Lion King" "SFX" incident), and so I thought to myself, "Oh, yes. My family's too censor- worthy." So, I got sent to my room (at 19; wow, that's something!!!!!) and thanks to that, I couldn't watch "Match Game" and "Will It Float" later that night; the same went with many of the other nights. So really; Disney Channel thinks it's NOT OKAY for kids to see martial arts action, but it's OKAY to hear blasphemy????? Golly, I wish the FCC shut down this now joke-of-a-channel!!!!!And, if y'all are curious of the "Will It Float" situation on Letterman that night, I'll never know!!!!! The site never said!!!!! LOL this stinks so much1/10
Soccer1253 I found another goof while watching the movie. When Jamie is reading the positive article about herself in the paper that Connor wrote, she reads... "She didn't lie or slander us, she merely saw through our masks." But when the camera shows the paper it reads "She didn't lie or slander us, she merely reflected what is out there." Just thought i should let you know! I really liked Read it and Weep! It is one of my favorite Disney Channel movies. I loved the characters and the plot of the movies. it's great for kids but it has that edge so that teens can like the movie too. I loved that they had both Panabaker sisters in this movie, and i thought they both were great in this movie!
Rachel Brown I thought this movie was great! It was very fun to watch because it's not so normal, no movies are based on writing. I thought it was great how much the main character Jami, (Kay Panabaker who is one of my favorite actresses) changed over the movie. She went from a girl that wants to be someone else to someone that ends up really appreciating her life. Since I'm a teenager I can relate to a lot of the problems in the movie, and I think a lot of the other viewers feel the same. I also liked how Jami's alter ego Is was always telling and trying to convince Jami to do the wrong thing, but at the end Jami wouldn't let Is get inside her head. So overall this was great and I highly recommend it!
