Michael Ledo This feature opens with a fire, hell, and damnation type of interpretation of Revelation and then drops the ball as the rest of the film has absolutely nothing to do with the Book of Revelation. This is rather a pop Christian version designed to sell a film to those who never read and studied the book.Josh (=Jesus) sells vests (=armor of God). He saves a family from a group of evil bikers known as either Outlaws or Barbarians. They have their own heavy metal swagger music, kill people, but never swear. Oh yes, they have something that looks like Thor's hammer. Eric Roberts has a small role in this film. Bruce Marchiano who always plays Jesus in these productions plays a stranger who saves a girl from said bikers. Please Scooby-Doo, tell me who this guy is?This is just the first part of what will surely be a butchered series designed to soak churches for the rights to showing this film. PLOT SPOILER...if there is such a thing...the rapture happens at the end of the film. While the rapture has statements to support it in the Bible, it really isn't part of Revelation. Technically this is a movie about the end times that doesn't follow Revelation in any shape or form, but simply uses it in the title to sell the feature. Dishonest if you ask me.Outside of that, the movie was poorly acted and the dialogue was jerky, like the sign reads, "Guns, Jerky, and More."Parental Guide: No F-bombs, sex, or nudity. Fighting and some killing.
Lee Great movie! Sadly those who are negative about it and 'hate' certain things/people are negative people themselves. How sad to judge people before you know them. It comes down to the fact that you are just plain jealous... doesn't it just make you feel miserable inside?? Yes, and I hope you find release.
Damn_Monkey I'll prologue this by saying I'm not a Christian. I also don't discount a movie because it was created with a Christian message in mind. A good writer and director can make anything entertaining. This movie had neither. Not the worst movie I've ever seen. Could have cut out a lot of the preachy God and Jesus bits, and saved a lot of time. The lead actor, David A.R. White, is pretty wooden. I get that he is supposed to be this "man with a past" but watching him attempt to act just leaves me caring less.If you're bored and are looking for some noise in the background, not a bad choice. Just tune out every time someone starts to talk about religion.
steve-668-198948 I'm personally not a hands in the air Christian person, I'm more likely to be judged not only not worthy but actually hopeless (Sam Harris may have it right in the end). I found the acting top notch and the overall production right on par with some of the best. I can hardly wait for the next. I luv movies and seen about all. Very enjoyable, it is one of those "hope I don't get left behind" movies. Very entertaining. The main actor holds it together well, good camera work helped, very good beginning that leads you to assume, don't. Christian movies always get it a bit wrong, teeth to perfect and a smudge of dirt doesn't always do the job of making an evil man evil plus a girl with a goth look and shiny lipstick doesn't scare much these days, who cares in this movie not many I doubt, again absolutely luv'd it and very believable, had me going and that was the point after all.
