Nikhil I remember watching the trailer and I found it very eye catching which made me eager to watch this movie in cinemas. As a Ajay Devgn fan, I went to watch this film on the day of its release with high expectations and this film turned out be much better than I thought. It had high octane action which was done on a grand scale and it was something that has never been done before in Indian Cinema which was impressive considering that I've been an action junkie since the 90s era. Ajay done a superb job expanding his imagination as a director by using his skills in attempt to try something new which audiences have never experienced before which gave it that sort of feel in terms in cinemagraphy. Plus, the VFX and background music was excellent which Ajay had put his heart and soul into whilst making this film in order for it to stand out properly for an action film.Fighting and chase sequence was awesome and done smoothly which keeps your mind engaged whilst watching this movie which happened to me when i saw it cinema. It's gives you that curiosity as to what will happen in each scene and it really keeps you on the edge of your seats for an action/thriller movie. I think Ajay's work was fabulous because he balanced everything e.g. Action, Drama, Emotional and ect all in one and it doesn't looked forced unlike some directors who can be useless when it comes do doing this. The movie starts off well as Ajay is climbing on the mountain and jumping from one cliff to another while his buddies watched on. I was thinking what why is he doing this? It turns out that he was doing some experiment which was fair enough. He goes to meets with some people and engages a conversation with some oriental guy. Then takes some of the tourists and that includes Erika to mountains. Suprsingly, Erika spoke Hindi and Ajay was seem suprised judging by the look in his face. Her Hindi was good and better than Katrina Kaif :)While Ajay's is guiding these tourists but there's a disaster that comes its way. Everybody is uses the zip line to climb to another mountain. Erika is the last one standing but Ajay rescues her. This part handled very well...as the tent is hanging high above the air while Ajay & Erika make love. Lol @ people who were mocking this. That scene was good and directed very well followed by the nice song. One of the scenes that I liked was Ajay telling Erika in anger to go inside the house. Their confrontation scene was good and thank god it wasn't overdone. Ajay wanted to have Erika's baby but she refused to give birth. Eventually she did but went back to her country Bulgaria while Ajay raised the little girl up.The father and daughter relationship is handled very well with brilliant drama. I loved the emotional scenes from Abigail as she found out she had a biological mother. She accidently hits her head on the rock and lands in hospital. Ajay seem anxious and tensed when she was in hospital and it was good acting. Then both them go to Bulgaria to find Erika which gives a lot curiosity as to what's going to happen. Ajay walks by these people whom he's sees with a little boy. This part was makes you wonder what's going through Ajay's mind. He seemed disturbed and saved the boy from this old guy who was a pedophille.Ajay & Abigail continue their search and go to the Indian embassy. Man, it gets better as Abrigiail gets taken by these trafficking people. The action/chase scene was awesome and Ajay done excelllent job handing this part. One scene was copied off Taken but oh well. Ajay gets accused for the trafficing but the part where he escapes the prison van was good. There is a twist and swerve where it was revealed that a corrupt Police man was behind the kidnapping as the old man got killed. Ajay goes under the basement to look for his daughter. I love part where he opens the sleeping bag and his emtional scene was brilliant as he shows rage and anger inside. He also invades the Police Station which was great action. He finds Abigail when he opens the back door of the van. You can't blame her for being scared because after what she went through. Ajay handles her very well and sweet talks her hence why she was calm. So much emotions in this scene which was aweomeAjay gets beaten up while Abrigail looks on. It was sad knowing that she had witness all of this. Plus, the song added to the scene was perfect but before that there it silent which was excellent. The fight scene between Ajay and baddies was good as he tells her to run away.Another scene I liked is where Abrigial meets Erika and hugs Ajay. The scene where she plays with her teddy bears was so cute and you'll love it. Plus, it had a happy ending where she embraces Ajay and rips his ticket. She wanted him to stay and you can't blame her.Performances:Ajay Devgn is awesome playing the father role. He's terrfic in every single catergory e.g. Intense, Emotional, Anxiety and Action. This is why I'm a huge fan of him because he puts his heart & soul into acting and Shivaay is an example.Abigail gives a terrific performance playing the mute girl. Ajay's directs her very well and makes you care about her character. She's was brilliant in emotional scenes.Erika is good and she looks very pretty but she was misued because the focus was on the father and daugther relationship. She plays a role of Bulgarian woman and her Hindi is what really suprised me. However, her chemistry with Ajay could have been better but it was ok.Sayesha Saigal has a small role but she gives a good performance. She's another person who excelled in emotional scenes. The villains were good and did what was required in the film. There an old man in this film who intimidates Abrigial and he acts very well.I'm going to give this movie a 4.5/5. It's an awesome film that will keep you on the edge of your seats. You will love the father and daughter relationship & chemistry between Ajay & Abrigial.
marjanahmedtareq one of the best action , drama, thriller film I have ever seen. the story of the movie was also at its best. Ajay's best I would say. as a actor plus as a director. everyone has done a great job. A family film with love emotions and many more. A real class movie. Liked it. A must watch film.
Tejaswy Nalam There is a certain minimum number of words that need to be written for a review to be published. Putting in that effort for a film like Shivaay would be original sin. However, morality dictates that ethics should be suspended for teleological reasons. This is the only reason why I am writing a review here. For the greater good of the world.Calling this movie a disaster would greatly elevate the sense of utter dejection, sadness, infuriation, pain, suffering, angst, agony, and pure evil that the word disaster originally conveys.Every scene is clichéd. That is still okay. Every scene takes the audience to be idiots with single digit IQs drooling at the mouth, standing in a corner with their flies open and a wad of cash held in their hands to be grabbed anyone passing by.And if you did indeed pay for watching the movie (in terms of time or money) you would surely be left feeling that way. I sure did.If someone paid me money for a stellar review, I would probably do it. If someone asked to write a paid, 10-star review for Shivaay after having made me watch it, I would shoot him, and then go on to destroy the rest of the world.Don't watch it.
shivamt25 Why do people like it so much? Why is its rating above 7, i just don't understand. This was unbearable like son of sardar, himmatwala, action jackson etc. Ajay should look back and learn from these movies. This is a long movie with a story of a short 10 minute movie. It is slightly "inspired" from Taken which is the only good thing about it. A waste of money is what it is. Sure you would like the stunt, but what if i told you that they were forcibly squeezed into scenes where there was no need of them. There were characters who were just there for 1 or 2 dialogues. It was like other than Ajay's Character and his daughter, all the other characters could have been replaced by one character. There were some scenes which were so unnecessarily stretch that i saw people leaving the theater in the second half because they just couldn't take it anymore. This movie is a disaster and watch it only if you have time to waste.
