Reviews

Michael Ledo After warnings have been issued about an on-line dating serial killer, Jack Roper (Ben Kaplan) and Kristy Smith (Morgan Carter) hook up and go off to a cabin in the woods. They rent the cabin from "Momma" (Jewel Shepard) a personable landlord who gives new meaning to the word "spooning." The film then struggles through the inevitable slasher/cabin film to get to the cute ending, which for many may not be worth the wait and watch.Guide: F-word, sex, nudity (Morgan Carter, Rebecca Crowley + 1 other)
Leofwine_draca SLASHER.COM is yet another indie horror going for the routine 'cabin in the woods' premise. It sees a young couple heading off for some remote rural fun, only to discover that the landlords of their holiday home are more than a little creepy. This one has some REALLY bad acting, and it's cheap and nasty looking to boot. The only (mildly) interesting thing about it is that the landlord couple is played by Jewel Shepard (RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD) and R.A. Mihailoff (who played Leatherface in, er, LEATHERFACE).
Travis This movie was enjoyable. It would have been better than most low budget horror movies if it wasn't for the music. The acting generally was pretty good. Most of the people were believable, except 1. There was one actress that might as well have been reading off of a cue card. Luckily for the movie she was only in a few scenes. Nothing real original about the plot, except for the ending which I didn't see coming.I enjoyed this movie and would watch it again. I would own it if it wasn't for the music. Normally in a movie music is used to set scenes and help build emotion. In this movie it was used to drown out the dialog and make you want to mute it.
arfdawg-1 The Plot.A dive into the deep waters of classic horror films updated with novel, unanticipated plot twists. The film blends legendary horror actors (Jewel Shepard, RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD and R.A. Mihailoff, Texas CHAINSAW MASSACRE III) with fresh faces on the film scene (Ben Kaplan, Morgan Carter, and Rebecca Crowley). Hazards of modern technology lead the characters into a dark, remote, isolated backwoods far away from the trappings and safety of suburbia or city life. There they encounter a family like no other. Not really all that good. It's another one of those flicks that thinks loud music is going to excite you. It makes me snooze. The direction is spotty and the production values are non existent.Did I mention that I REALLY hated the music? The woman in this film has the most annoying way of acting. She's very unemotional. But at least she gets naked for a bit. But she basically goes thru her scenes reading the lines as if from a book.Did I mention that the music REALLY sucks?About 20 minutes into this film I started fast forwarding because it was really stupid and the music was annoying beyond belief. Whoever scored this film needs to be put in a box.In short the movie stinks and the music sucks.
