roseybaby63-59-43149 This was a really odd movie, but I enjoyed it. I'm sure lots of people won't like it, but I liked it. The main character is this lazy, selfish man who doesn't appreciate his girlfriend enough. It would be easy to dislike him, but the stuff that comes out of his mouth made me laugh. He loses his girlfriend when he turns down her marriage proposal and she hooks up with an old flame. After meeting and talking with a stranger, he finds himself turned into a vampire. That's when the real craziness starts. The quick and odd dialogue has me laughing as well as the insanity of some of the situations. It's a low key kind of movie that not everyone will enjoy. I found it to be quirky and clever.
poe426 At least two-thirds of SUMMER OF BLOOD is laugh-out-loud funny. The reason: Onur Tukel, the contemporary Woody Allen. The script is genuinely funny, as is Tukel himself: he babbles on like Woody Allen, so self-absorbed that absolutely nothing gets between himself and his love of himself. His first encounter with a victim of a vampire is priceless: the man's bleeding out and can't talk because his throat has been ripped out. "Can you SIGN?" Tukel asks. The man begins to respond in sign language (subtitles translate the gestures)- but it doesn't really help... because Tukel doesn't know sign language. "Wow," he murmurs, in amazement: "You really DO know how to sign..." Tukel goes on to plumb the depths of life-after-death in a way that even Woody Allen could only dream of. SUMMER OF BLOOD pulls no punches and I recommend it for Onur Tukel's performance above all else.
Jimmy P There's a lot of different vampire comedian es out there like: Dracula Dead And Loving It, Love At First Bite, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and Vampires Suck, to name just a few. Summer Of Blood is not good enough to compare to any of those films, but it has some merit in that Department. This film is mildly entertaining, a little bit if situational humor and introspective look at the dating scene and shallowness of people in the city. I'm not certain that this film would have a large demographic outside of the middle-aged male population. Middle-aged selfish, existentialist of simple-shady means has his life thrown upside down. When faced with these life changes he embraces the change, with fangs.
mortiis33-969-390769 This "Film" (and I use the term loosely) had absolutely nothing going for it, like someone else pointed out - it was pretentious mumble-core garbage, with terrible acting, no visible plot and obviously a shoestring budget to match. The main character (and everyone else) just would NOT shut up, even to pause for breath, they raced through their forced lines like they could not wait to get this steaming pile of crap over and done with and collect their meager paycheck at the end of it all.Don't waste your time or money on this trash.I seriously want my hour and twenty-five minutes of life back after this one, and I suggest it be avoided at all costs!
