karmap80 I am not a movie critic, just a regular person who likes crime thrillers and for people like me, who like this genre, this movie comes through. I will say that the plot is familiar but I didn't mind because it kept me interested. There isn't anything groundbreaking or phenomenal about this film, but it wasn't even released in theaters, so I have to assume that anyone watching this is at home, looking for a decent movie to watch. This fit the bill for that, which is what I was looking for- something to entertain for a couple hours. There is suspense, good acting, and the ending does add something new to the plot. It certainly didn't end like I was expecting it to. I enjoyed it and consider it time well spent. I say if you usually like movies with crime, murder, chasing them down, Cusack or Jennifer Carpenter, then you will like this movie.
kgrv2000 Surprisingly good thriller. Did not expect the twist at the end. Really well-made; plus John Cusack's one of those reliable actors who can turn a low-budget movie into something enjoyable.
James Dempsey I made the mistake of reading a bunch of reviews of this movie, both here and at Netflix. Despite the (mostly) negative reviews, I watched it anyway. I'm glad I did. Most reviewers bashed the movie with the exception of the "twist" at the end. For me, I saw the "twist" coming very, very early in the movie—and found it the least enjoyable part of the movie— though the way it played-out still surprised me.This flick was well acted, suspenseful and completely entertaining if you ask me.
mesmom2 this movie had me intrigued until just before the end, when the antagonist received a phone call during his 'date'. with so few characters in the storyline, that was a dead giveaway, making the ending uber predictable. i don't think omitting the phone call would have worked. it was necessary in introducing the idea of a 2nd antagonist. but there should have been more options as to who the 2nd antagonist might be. the slim pickings made it just too easy. either way, i saw it coming and it just sucked the fun right out of the mystery. admittedly, the movie was gripping until then, but that is not enough. so, out of a 10, it gets a 5 for keeping my interest, but it forfeits a 5 for losing it.
