Gordon-11 This film is a collection of ten stories that illustrates the Ten Commandments in ridiculous modern day situations, such as prison and suburbia.Just from watching the first story of a man who stays true to his roots, that any viewer can see the stories are so ridiculous that they cannot be taken seriously. They are so crazy and funny, especially the Sunday church story and the prison story. I didn't quite like the rhino story, but it wasn't too bad. A part of the fun of watching this film is star spotting. There are so many famous stars in the film, some of them tiny roles, appearing for only two or three seconds. "The Ten" is fun to watch, just don't take it seriously.
Finfrosk86 Now, I don't have that much to say about this movie, I write this review to say that the IMDb-score is too low. Here is what I think happened with this. The Tens make fun of Christianity, therefore a lot of people rate it low. Don't listen to these humorless people. The Tens is not laugh out loud-funny every single second, but it is definitely a piece of light entertainment, good for a couple of laughs. To most people at least. There are several segments here and hey vary in quality, but overall this is, like I just said, light entertainment. Some of the segments are kind of strange, not everyone likes that. Paul Rudd is funny and it was after seeing this that I started liking him. Not that I didn't like him before, but you know. Liked him better.I think I might even see it another time, some time in the future. I can't say that about all comedies!
Daniel Dascalu Not much to say, just an ill-made collage that tries to make itself look funny. A wanna-be biblical satire that only reminds you of the excellent "The Life of Brian", it borrows from the absurd-comedy elements the Pythons so wonderfully made use of, but fails badly because of the sheer stupidity of the jokes. I find it obvious that any enjoyable comedy movie has this one thing The Ten lacks: wit. No, you cannot be funny just by being stupid, and no, if you pick a subject like the Ten Commandments to make fun of, it won't compensate.I usually sit-through a movie, no matter how bad it is, and so i did this time as well. My final conclusion was: disgustingly stupid; or, better yet,: I really should tell others not to waste their time on this.
Caroline Anderson David Wain, Ken Marino, and Paul Rudd do incredible work together. All three of their voices are very evident and if you're a fan of any of them, you'll like this. You'll notice that people have a tendency to call it the worst movie they've ever seen, or rate it zero stars. The truth is the humor is so incredibly absurd that it won't appeal to everyone. If you go into it not wanting to like it, you probably won't.I personally laughed the whole way. So has every audience I've seen it with. Some of the sketches are stronger than others (my personal favorite being any of the ones with Ken Marino's character, like Murder and Covet they neighbors wife) but I assure you if you keep an open mind, one of them will appeal to you.
