facesofine Sorry to see so many negative reviews, but I enjoyed it very much. At first, it seemed to be a knock-off of Forbidden Kingdom, but it isn't. The only similarity is that the hero is being transported back in time. But story and plot are so different. This one is light-hearted, humorous, and, most of all, fun. At least, this one is more believable (within its fantasy premise). If you're looking for a serious take, it's not for you. But if you appreciate movies like Shaolin Soccer, you may enjoy this one.
Dark_Lord_Mark Kills Time with Enjoyable Action and Fun The movie actually surprised in Liberal 2017 Social Justice Anti-Certain culture Hollywood. It's a bit like old school 90's film. A teen becomes a hero by going back in time and becoming somewhat of a fighter. That is all you really need to know. It's a bit of a mixed genre film. It's fantasy, with sci-fi, witch lots of action and a bit of teenage angst and romance. If you love 80's movies and not a shallow feminized Liberal dirt bag with dreams of Social Justice domination, then this is a fun time.A solid 7.5 out of 10.
DuskShadow THe title says it all.Hoenstly folks , even I grew up watching a ( white) kid in king arthurs court and the various spin offs.I have seen so many anime, that the whole going to a world not your own, whisked away against your will, motif, loses its luster.THis was a bloody rip off of that film forbidden kingdom, which starred jackie chan and jet lee, and COULD have been great, if not for the measly and pitiful excuse for a boy child that was the starring lead.THIS movie is the same. And yes, I do just so happen to be a gamer, and have seen a FUDGE ton of films and things, been into history, and all that...JAZZ. THIS MOVIE WAS CHEAP AND TACTLESS!!!! GARBAGE! AVOID! CIAO!!
phd_travel Thoroughly enjoyable, this action comedy has just the right blend of East and West. When Luc Besson is involved you know the story is going to be entertaining. The dialog is funny even laugh out loud funny and the story is well written and structured with a funny part in the mall and home then the Chinese adventure and then a proper conclusion back home. It avoids the silliness of some Jackie Chan movies and the repetitive martial arts of some other crossover movies. The characters all have good lines and action even the Arun the Cruel. The scenery is pretty with an on location heart of China feel.Acting is above average for this kind of movie. The main protagonist Jack played by Uriah Shelton is quite likable as the bullied video game geek who gets involved in an adventure in China. Chinese actress Ni Ni is pretty and acts well in the comic parts. Her English diction is good. Taiwanese actor Mark Chao is a convincing warrior Zhao.Well done - the best of this kind of English speaking Asian action comedy so far.
