Harald Hofer ... and unwatch this movie. In fact it was not entirely bad made. The actors were reasonable well. The problem is, that this is not a movie, it's more like a sermon or a ad for christianity. "Gentlemen, gentlemen hear me! Satan is not against good morals. He is opposed to Jesus Christ. A man could have good morals his entire life yet you and I know he would go to hell when he dies." - except he finds Jesus... blah, blah, blah. You may as well be a serial killer as long as you find Christ you will sit next to him in eternity. Can someone spot the problem here...?
aaroninacave Let me just start by saying that i am not giving this movie a ten because of the acting, which is at best mediocre. I am giving this movie top marks for a couple of reasons: 1. The premise, particularly if you are a Christian, is fantastic. It sums up very well the moral decline over this past 100 years and who could deny the direct correlation with people turning their backs on God (and therefore His standards)... which are of course what the law of any civilized land is based on.2. Some Church's today could learn a lot from watching this, Church's that try to get people in through their doors by showing them 'they're just like the world' are seriously misguided. Share the Gospel and Trust in God! ... also ignore the reviews from people who hate the God they don't believe in... lol and they reckon Christians are nuts?
Deirdre Hebert I know that if you're not Hollywood, that producing a film is expensive, and recruiting talent, hiring coaches, and all the rest that goes into producing a top-notch film requires serious resources. But here is the thing - if you want to win people over to your point of view by using media such as film, it's important to reach - rather than to turn off - your intended audience. And you accomplish this by striving for perfection, and settling for little less. It's likely that with a film based on the premise of time-travel, the producers were hoping to reach a group of people who were at least interested in science fiction. But for time-travel themed science fiction to be effective, the time-traveler must be able to convince the audience that he or she is truly from the time they claim.Unfortunately, all the characters from the past seem incapable of speaking as if they were truly from the later 19th century. The dialog from these people seems to be more of an affected 21st century people attempting to make us believe they are from the 18th century. For me, this was the weakest link in the film. The main characters were anachronistic in any age - they belonged nowhere.I'm not a Christian, but I don't mind spiritual film - so the message of this film does little to inform my critique. This is simply a bad film with poor acting and a thrown-together plot. Also, the dramatic ploy to build urgency at the end - seems a bit childish.
the_silver_angel_13 Don't let the description fool you- this film is slow moving, boring, and with little climax. With the back drop of an above average "home-movie-feel" and poor acting, this film took me back to remembering "The Wylds" movie. This film would be better set up for church youth to watch, as it would be a more appropriate film there- or a "family movie night" on a Sunday- if you get my drift. But don't expect tears or leaving with a warmth in your heart from everyone, because this movie is TRUE Christian fundamentalists! IMHO (Each to their own, but not my cup of tea.... My interest fizzled out about 30 minutes in... Sadly, I had to see it in theaters when it first came out, thinking it held similarities to "The Time Machine"- woo, epic fail there!)
