Synopsis

The film centers on nerd Maxwell Dweeb (Robert Carradine), who is a loner with no friends. While watching television, he sees an advertisement for the Minnie Mouse Center for the Totally Unhip, named after its owner, Minnie Mouse. Dweeb, in an effort to improve himself, decides to attend. After being welcomed by the director (Suzanne Somers), Dweeb is taken on a tour of the centre, where other Disney characters run various courses: Goofy is a fitness instructor, Donald Duck is a wardrobe manager, and Pluto is a messenger boy. After finally meeting Minnie Mouse, Dweeb is taken on by the director, whom he eventually falls in love with, and dates once he has passed his training. The film is intershot with various musical numbers (including the duet "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" by Minnie Mouse and Elton John) and excerpts from early Disney shorts.

inovake I totally remember this! But the funny thing is, i never saw it in English. The first time I saw it, it was airing in Manaus,Brazil where i was at the time...so i saw the whole thing in Portuguese. LOL. The songs were in English tho, so i didn't miss TOTALLY out on everything ;) I never found those songs here until a few days ago actually, and boy did it bring back A lot of memories! It was so awesome. Does anyone know where that can be found? I mean, did it ever come out on DVD or anything like that? Cuz i want it!!! ;)And yes...i remember JEM as well....but that too was also in Brazil. Small world huh?
ranarian My sister and I loved this TV movie when we were little. We taped it off the TV and watched it almost every day until it was accidentally recorded over.It was during the period when all little girls had to be seen in a huge reversible Minnie Mouse sweater and pink leggings. I had forgotten all about it till I heard "I'm So Excited" by the Pointer Sisters and it brought the movie flooding back. This movie really sums up the late 80s when everyone was obsessed with bright colours and shopping for the latest accessories. Minnie Mouse was the ultimate "hip" shopping-obsessed girl for any child under 10!
matrixdirect I cant believe other people than me actually remember this. I think it was shown only once on ABC's "The Wonderful World of Disney". With the possible exception of "Oliver & Company", 'Totally Minnie' is the most "obviously made in the 80's" thing Disney has ever done...And it has not aged well. More neon colors, polka dots, and spandex than you ever will see again. Wicked synthesizer-laden soundtrack and lots of classic 80's pop tunes from Janet Jackson to the Pointer Sisters, Plus a special guest appearance by Elton John that must be seen to be believed! Starring Suzanne Somers and Robert Carradine from the infamous Revenge of the Nerds series. Grab your old "Members Only" jacket and headband and enjoy if you can find this rare 80's time capsule of a film somewhere.
bubbles549 I used to watch this movie with my sister all the time!!! It was one of the best movies I have ever seen, and I wish I could find it somewhere on tape. I love it...and recommend it to anyone!!! It has everything anyone could want in a movie...Minnie Mouse and friends, plus Elton John! Great movie, and hilarious too.
