kerrilane I love this movie! It is my go to movie that I recommend to all my friends to watch. The settings and filming is stunning and a fantastic treat for the eyes. The music perfectly balanced and the story line is beautifully told. I can and have watched this film over and over again! The trailer for the film is enough to suck you in to watch more! You will thank me!
Kirpianuscus a classic love story. and wise director. inspired cast. and nice solutions of scriptwriter. an adaptation of an old well-known story. and fresh for the gentle manner to remind virtues and gestures and decisions with the Medieval essence, in Modern images. and that transforms all in more than another experiment. the chemistry between the lead actors, the links between characters, the fight scenes, the meeting and the last scene, the emotion who remains not a story but an entire library because it is a gallery of characters in this admirable adaptation. the force of gesture and the brilliance of look, the suggestion and the beauty of silence are ingredients of film . and that fact does it not remarkable but special. because, in many senses, it is a film for book lovers and not for the cinema-goers.
Armand the grace to present the old story of love, the performances, the music, the shadow of emotions and fights and hope, the sacrifice and the remember of the importance of hero. each of them - pillar for a lovely show, romantic in profound sense, interesting for manner to suggest and for the grace of image. because that is its basic virtue - the grace to replace a Medieval poem in the spirit of present period using the universal virtues of courage, love and need of power. a clear, subtle, seductive story. simple and convincing. tender and powerful. far to be a masterpiece, it is a necessary film for remember and for preserve the flavor of delicate feelings and real courage. Tristan and Isolda. the same from its birth to present. this film could be a proof.
zolazona I enjoyed this movie. I have traveled to the same westward regions of Ireland and loved seeing that the drifting camera shots had become my own memory of this place.Today I was driving down my mountain community to the suburbia beneath us and my driving companion and I got into a conversation about this movie (I had given her this netflix offering 2 days before).I figured out why this movie didn't work for me beyond my sensorial appreciation for it, because I sorted it all out (!!) within this car journey. The King was my man, and Tristan and Isolde had messed with him. The writers or the director or the ACTOR'S intentions and/or portrayals had made me adjust my allegiance to the characters that I had made my heretofore movie-loyalty construct for the majority of the film. They had become trifling young people with sexual urges (in this movie account) with a GREAT LOVE. But the king saw both the whole picture and the personal picture. Love the woman, and love your *kingdom*, and at the same time let the *son* you loved more than your blood son, go. Their love (Tristan and Isolde) seemed a bit meager at the end of the movie. I could not garner up Wagner's music to fit the plot, and regardless what you or I might possibly think about Wagner, that music has to be pleased, even if this movie had other ideas.
