Ariunsanaa T It is deep movie. I was emotional while watching this. I saw part of myself, my story on the screen. However it didn't want to be deep and serious movie. Instead the directors and writers wanted it to be light and cute. It's family friendly. I'll surely watch it again. It was emotional roller coaster for me. But who knows, it may be just me. For other person it might seem cheap wanna be flick. But that doesn't matter. It's my review and my feeling. And it's true that it seemed deep and touched me inside. Also it stars three or four of my wanna see actors. Little Dakota girl, late Brittany Murphy and a guy from Clueless. It's cute movie. And I'll cherish it.
jjnoahjames I'm not really into this movie, my wife is. But i watched it and it was good. Better than good. That's why I can't believe so many people said so many good things about it but nobody gave it above 7 stars? Do you want to support these actors careers or not? No wonder Britney Murphy is dead.Hear me out. What's a ten star film? A movie that is so awesome you can watch any time whenever and has no production or acting flaws.a 9 close to that but might be one thing you hate, or just might be a movie you aren't in the mood for that often but is still awesome.an 8 would be an all around good movie, that's just not amazing.a 7 would be an all around good movie that has one or two flaws, a 6 would be something you struggle through.2-5 would be a movie you turn off or fall asleep too at various points in time (right away or towards the end).a 1 would be you wouldn't even turn on.
sankey48 I liked what another reviewer said elsewhere that these kind of movies usually do follow a similar line. However "Uptown Girls" had some refreshing angles. A believable story always makes for more interest as far as we are concerned. It has so much content that can be accepted as REAL LIFE, situations. We both like Dakota Fanning have seen her in a few movies including one with Denzil Washington when he plays her "Nanny" in Mexico. Film was called "Man on Fire" I think.I also agree with the other reviewer in their comment that Dakota Fanning really does hold her own in this film. Thanks for the opportunity to add to the reviews. Regs, Geoff Moore Australia
katza_33 Brittany Murphy was really great and played her role well. I definitely love her acting skills in this movie! She brings laughter to the film with her funny lines and actions.Dakota Fanning - I must admit - is a good little actress in this movie. She is serious and acts like an adult. She made the film interesting along with her lines. "I had those shoes... When I was 5."Marley Shelton's character, Ingrid, however annoyed the hell out of me with her whining. This movie had it's serious parts and funny parts. The serious parts were sad, and the funny parts were, well, funny!I mostly laughed at Brittany Murpheys scenes where she acted like a child and then you have Fanning being the grown up of the film.I liked it and I think it's worth watching especially because Brittany Murphey does a great job!
