Leofwine_draca WW2 submarine movies are ten a penny and have been for many decades now. USS SEAVIPER is an entirely undistinguished addition to that sub-genre of film-making and unfortunately it takes a B-movie style approach to the proceedings which saps entertainment value. The story, about an American submarine battling a Japanese destroyer and becoming trapped below the waves, is entirely ordinary and the execution is very poor.The film's special effect budget is basically non-existent and features a few CGI explosions and that's it. Where the story really falls down is the script which fills the mouths of all of the characters with nonsense. There are no attempts at characterisation, just single-dimensional figures going about their business, and the cast all look bored. Most of the film takes place in a single small set and the tension is non-existent to boot.

tangkanman Since the DVD cover marked with "Treasure Coast International Film Festival" awards, I bought this DVD. After watching the whole movie, I believe this film is made by Movie Lovers with insufficient skills but with great enthusiasm. The actors tried their very best to act. You could feel how hard the Japanese solider is pushing when he kills the US solider by just looking at his facial expression. Also, the special effects of the Submarine is not too bad. At least it does not like a toy. Since, the cost is only about USD4, I do not regret buying this DVD too much for paying USD4 to support Movie Lovers making films. By the way, I think the DVD cover is quite attractive. ^O^

andrew OK, firstly I would not recommend this film as it had lots of bad but in saying that there was lots of potential.It was nice to see a story that has been untold about WW2 and the Germans and Japanese and the A Bomb. The problem with this film is that its slow and drawn out with things that are not of interest. The acting is poor and sadly some of the actors are so bad that it brings the rest of the cast down. There should have been more effort with the script and the background story, this would of then made us care about the crew and what there missions was. In the middle of the film there is a 15min piece of someone that we don't care about getting his leg amputated by a doctor who would look bad on general hospital.I think that the producers should sit down and look at there mistakes, don't give up as we need more War films, refine the script and build a good story, then with some better actors you will be on a winner.Hope this is of some help

M Schaffer So this is second time around to write a review for this movie as my last one got removed for some unknown reason.I'm an avid fan of most war movies especially WWII so I looked forward to watching this movie one evening. The IMDb review had given it 7.1 out of 10 so I thought this must be good. It is now reflects a lowly 2.1, which in my opinion is still too high, and probably due to the handful of 10/10 reviews that some people are making. Maybe they are related to the cast or crew or just like punishing themselves.However, as soon as the first scene came on it became apparent that all was not quite right. It's one of those feelings that you get when you know something is not quite right but you can't put your finger on it straight away. The acting just did not feel correct. The production and direction was straight out of the dummy's guide on how to make a movie. The script was stilted in many places and the actors looked like they had just stepped out of the shower, donned their neatly ironed shirts and trimmed their beards.The further in it went the special effects and sets just seemed cheap. The characters were like cardboard cut-outs, one dimensional and very stiff. The Germans are portrayed as stereotypical evil Nazis with no humanity and the Americans are the good guys who can do no wrong.This ranks as one of the worst movies I have seen in a long time. It was so bad that I had to give up watching during the movie. Life is way too short to waste it watching any of this movie. Read a book instead.
