subxerogravity The original Wild things is a classic. They're not going to ruin that with these non-inventive low budget straight-to-video sequels, it's more embarrassing for the ones involved with it. All the attempts to make it like the first one fall short. The movie has the same twist and turns as the first movie and it's sequel, which is now formulated and makes nothing that happen a surprise.Normally, I would give a point for nudity, but naked boobs is not even enough to make this film appealing.just really crap.
zardoz-13 "Tangled" director Jay Lowi's "Wild Things" sequel "Wild Things 3," a.k.a. "Wild Things: Diamonds in the Rough" qualifies as more of the same things as well as tame things. The exotic sunny Florida locations, the treacherous bare-breasted babes, and melodrama galore make the action tolerable to watch, even if the acting has, on the whole, an amateurish spontaneity. Not surprisingly, "Wild Things 2" scribe Andy Hurst, who also penned "Single White Female 2," has things down pat with this second sequel. Like the previous "Things," two gals are looking for the good life, even if it means that a man has to suffer the bad life. Most of the characters lack charisma and they turn on each other in a heartbeat. Eventually, some even wind up paying the piper. Indeed, the only decent, likable character in "Wild Things 3" is ruthlessly taken advantage of and his trust abused. Lowi generates enough momentum with the melodramatic elements in the narrative so that this nonsense doesn't wear out its welcome.Teenager Marie Clifton (Sarah Lang of "American Pie 2") is itching to get her fingers on $4-million dollars worth of diamonds when she turns eighteen, but her stepfather Jay Clifton (Brad Johnson of "Always") is putting up roadblocks. Marie's high school girlfriend suggests that she get a lawyer to fight Jay. During a pool competition where Marie competes, Elena Sandoval (Sandra McCoy of "Cry Wolf") is cleaning up. Jay takes pity on her and invites her to Marie's party. At Marie's party, Marie slaps Elena around in a frisky little catfight and they both wind up in the pool. Later, Elena has a rendezvous with Jay at his construction site. Jay is running behind on a project and the contractors are upset. The next morning Jay finds the police, Detective Michael Morrison (Linden Ashby of "Wyatt Earp") and Kristen Richards (Dana Meyers of "Starship Troopers") at his lush home. They arrest him for the rape of Elena Sandoval and Jay finds himself on trial for a crime that he never committed. Elena, it seems, was on parole, too, at the time. Marie truly hates her now.The Andy Hurst screenplay goes into overdrive during the second half and the co-conspirators come out of the woodwork by the dozens. Meanwhile, Detective Morrison who is getting divorced from his wife discovers that another member of the Blue Bay Police Department has her eyes on him—Detective Kirsten Richards. They get it on in the evidence room because the inevitable call interrupts them.At least, this derivative straight-to-cable melodrama with its wild twists and turns wraps itself up in 87 merciful minutes. The girls look really hot, awesome, and cute and the lesbian love scenes with Lang and McCoy swapping spit in the shower with a bare breast or two between him adds a little sizzle to this jaded saga.
actionmoviestar Man, oh man, oh man. "Wild Things," the 1998 film that turned Neve Campbell and Denise Richards into sex symbols was a very influential film that inspired a generation in the late 90's. 6 years later, we received the very late and unnecessary sequel "Wild Things 2." Now, in 2005 we get the third entry in the Wild Things film series called "Wild Things: Diamonds in the Rough." One question came to mind after I finished watching this crap-fest: "what were they thinking?" This movie is the same as the second one. Basically all they just did was recycle the plot from "Wild Things 2(which was recycled from "Wild Things")" and had cast different people in the same roles. The two lead female vixens were not convincing at all. From the moment the movie started you knew what was going to happen: spoiled little rich girl hates "trailer trash girl," trailer trash girl actually is friends with spoiled little rich girl and they both come up with a way to get millions of dollars. We saw this with the last two "Wild Things" movies except the first, original movie was done with more style.A word to the producers: please stop making these straight to home video sequels. You're f*cking up the rotation.
guyfromjerzee This is the perfect movie to watch after a hard day at work, when you just want to give your brain a rest and indulge in some trashy entertainment. I was especially impressed, considering how much I hated the second film. I bought the "Wild Things" box set, which has all three of the films, so it's good to know that two out of three of the films are worth watching. Sure, this ain't exactly Shakespeare, but it's intriguing and fun. I was glued to the screen from start to finish. Unlike the second entry in the series, the acting is pretty good for direct-to-video standards. It's not much better than the acting you'd see on an afternoon soap, but it works, being that the "Wild Things" films are kind of like soap operas. Like in the other two films, there are tons of plot twists and over the end credits, we watch tiny scenes that explain how these twists occurred. And of course, we have to have the good ol' threesome scene. It's great to watch, being that the two lead actresses are very gorgeous and their lesbian scenes are pretty hot--not like in some other films where the girls kiss with their lips barely touching each other. Some of the plot twists are downright ridiculous, but that didn't ruin the film for me. Like I said, it's almost like a soap opera. You're just watching to be intrigued and to keep guessing what will happen next. And what can I say? It's one hell of a ride.
