bazmitch23 The biggest problem with this show is that it tries WAY too hard to both funny and hip for the kids.Jack Whitehall is an okay actor, but he tries so hard to humiliate himself to get a cheap laugh. To be honest, some of his jokes work, others don't.The episode where he asks a farmer "Do all meerkats come from Russia?" is just so cringeworthy. The students are stereotypes that we have seen in other High School comedies. We have the gay kid, the smart Asian one, the slut, the tough kid and the wannabe rapper. The show also suffers from really annoying dubstep music, again trying too hard to be cool for the target audience. Also, the editing......... dear God, the EDITING! It looks like a child edited this. Jokes have to work because of the timing, but when you have sudden jump cuts between comedic scenes, it doesn't work. But the number one thing I hate about this show is Fraser.I HATE THIS CHARACTER WITH A PASSION!I get that the joke is that he tries too hard to be cool and fails everytime, but he is just not funny. You can't have a character suddenly shouting "REWIND!" and "TOP BANTER!" and expect it to be funny. Its like a child tugging at his or her's parents clothes and saying "Look at me!"This show is like Jack Whitehall's stand up; Only funny in small doses.
giljade-23068 OK, its crass, juvenile, and has spectacularly non-PC dialogue. But it is pure genius IMHO. Banter level indeed reaches stratospheric levels, and it is recommended to download subtitles to follow all slang spoken at breakneck speed. I have recently re-viewed some episodes and was rolling on the floor laughing. Here is a one-liner quote, one of a thousand of the surreal dialogue. When asked to ask a question during a visit to the "Petting Zoo and Ink museum" here is what Joe comes with: "Would you rather be a boy with a dog's head or a dog with a boys head?" following Rem-dogs rather non-PC one: "How come you can call dogs bitches, but not bitches bitches?" And BTW I'm no dumb teenager myself having recently entered my sixth decade. I think this has not enough cult following as it should ...
Tommy Carlin Don't be fooled by the title, Bad Education is everything but bad. The characters (although somewhat cliché) are all lovable and in many ways relate-able. An example would be the flamboyantly eccentric Stephen (or indeed his alter-ego Stephanie). The show takes place in a typical British secondary school filled with dodgy teachers, and even dodgier pupils. All the funny scenarios and wacky situations will make you think "(sigh) if only my school was really this funny"Although, it may not quite be enough to rival that of the Inbetweeners, this school-based sitcom is British comedy gold. Whether it be with Headteacher Frasers "banter" or with Alfie's embarrassing memories, there's plenty to keep you giggling.
Markus Petherton I will start by saying that I am a fan of the actors in the show, I liked fresh meat a lot it was great and I wish they had continued to make more of them with the same group of people who worked well together. This on the other hand is somewhat poor, the humour's quite weak and just doesn't seem to hit the mark.Other characteristics that annoy me about the show :-1. All the male characters are shown to be complete idiots and are continuously being publicly humiliated while the female characters seem to be shown as "Strong and Stable" types. When I was in school it was the complete opposite so some elements of reality here would of been nice.2. The gags seem to range from unfunny to bad to just wrong. At one stage on the second series the gags run out and they have to resort to attacking a mans genitalia for no reason to try and get a laugh. I'm sorry but that type of humor might work in the US but I would like to think here in Great Britain we are capable of coming up with something better than that. The whole show really does seem to have a feminist vibe to it, which in all honesty is not surprising considering the way the BBC seem to have been lately. I will not be watching it anymore.
