Charlie Murphy plays Vic and he does a great job in this role. Mike Clattenburg is a Genius! Black Jesus is set in Compton and yes he Smokes weed. It's all Satire and shouldn't offend anyone. I highly recommend this show to all Cultures. Let's all pray for a Season 3. Who doesn't need Black Jesus in their Life?? The show is on Cartoon Networks Adult Swim and usually Aires on Friday 11pm . Oh, and let's not forget John Witherspoon playing the incomparable Lloyd. An over drinking hobo that Vic enlists to spy on Black Jesus and his disciples. All in All the show is funny and also touches on Social issues as well. Highly Recommended! #SmokeYoursCrew

Janet Laylor You don't have to be black and live in Compton to 'get' this show. Jesus's second coming is subtle. He just... suddenly shows up but he's been there all along. Like boondocks, each episode carries a message, but the message is cloaked in gags and misdeeds. All in all, "Black Jesus" gives you enough to have faith, but not enough to prove it - very much like any religion.What I like best about this show is that it grows the characters. They are not just one- dimensional. Each episode brings added attention to one or more of the characters to give them added depth and flesh them out. Only one character so far that is not multi- dimensional is the preacher. And coincidentally, he is the only one who is stereotyped. The entire cast is great, and is given ample opportunity to develop, grow and hold my interest. One of the few shows on the air that I keep on getting surprised by.Perspective: this review only goes to Season 2, episode 7. This show builds on previous shows.

You knew damn well what this was so why did you even bother watching it? This show if anything is going to bring different people together for the love of comedy. This is the single funniest shows since Trailer Park Boy's, or Eastbound And Down. There is nothing what so ever wrong with this show. I don't know if some of you know this but it is 2014 and if you can't have a sense of humor you belong in the dark ages. Sure this show is offensive... to stuck up judgmental assholes like the ones giving it negative reviews. So please don't listen to those people. Seriously like one reviewer said this show will have you laughing so hard you'll need to rewind it at times just to hear what you missed from laughing so hard. And if you are one of those uptight sick in the mud bible pumpers go do something else. Because you have no business wasting your time here. But I forgive your stupid ass cause that's what Black Jesus would do.

tom salwan To see what this show was all about I tried watching it. It turned out to be just another anti-Christian attack on Jesus Christian and Christians. Basically it has a some black guy, playing Jesus Christ doing things which the actual Jesus Christ would not do. Like weed,gambling and picking up ladies. Hollywood does these attacks more in the form of comedy because people will be more vulnerable when it comes to comedy. People will think its just a joke/entertainment no big deal not realizing its meant as an brainwashing tool or attack. The people who made this clearly have a problem with Christians. But I don't think they would do the same attack Against Muslims portraying Muhammad or attack atheism. Not a surprise this is on Adult Swim they are known to be very Anti-Christian and perverted at night. And why the need to make him black was that another mockery or maybe just about race pushing?Even if this was not about Jesus Christ it would still be a very poorly made show. I regret watching this pathetic show. I predict that even though the show is awful. A lot of atheists will rate this show high purely because of who it's is mocking.I guess Hollywood seems to care more about pushing their immoral agendas than entertainment. They will even sacrifice making more money for pushing their immoral stuff.
