griggsc76 I don't find calling someone a "towelhead" or forcing them to shake a woman's hand when it's against their beliefs to be funny. I don't find solving problems with guns and violence to be funny. There is nothing remotely redeeming about the main character (who is as hypocritical as he is bigoted). I'm shocked to see all these glowing reviews...but I guess there is no accounting for taste.
matahari20-1 I give it 2 for the idea. Other than that, it is insulting to Americans, Norwegians, Muslims, women, intelligence and comedy. It's even insulting to gangsters. The central character is a boorish, bigoted, creepy creep who stalks a much younger woman, calls a Muslim character a 'towel-head' (I don't care if that character was portrayed as disrespectful to women; that entire sequence came off as disgustingly ignorant and bigoted and felt like we're supposed to be in on it with mafiaman, slapping the guy around and enjoying it because he's Muslim, not because he was a rude misogynist.) The show is an embarrassment to Americans. Truly, I am embarrassed for America watching this. I am embarrassed for the writers too, who I believe are Scandinavians, and that is a great shame coming from a part of the world currently delivering some of the best crime fiction TV on the planet. Fail.
mattwillspp One of the funniest shows I've ever seen each character plays their role perfectly and this show was just the perfect storm of where it takes place and the fact that a mobster moved into this quiet peaceful town and put together a whole crew full of clowns and still is the boss and gets stuff done just amazing amazing I have moments throughout every episode where I'm watching the show by myself and laugh out loud really hard just Incredible show wish they had more seasons than 3 so many legendary memorable scenes....you know a show is amazing when your watching it and every great scene you see you wished you were watching with your friend who get the show like you do because we all have that one friend we like watching shows with and that is the ultimate compliment you can give to a show so I wanna just say if you start watching it and get turned off by the subtitles please just stick with it it's the most rewarding show to stock with you will laugh and laugh and just flat out enjoy every episode of this amazing show
TheMoviemeister With this Netflix series I don't know whether to call this a dark comedy or an action/drama. It has a weird feeling during the intro that makes you think this isn't your typical mafia snitch story. Steven van Zandts performance as mafia under-boss turned informant is nothing short of excellent. Netflix out-done them self with this Netflix Exclusive show. There are only a couple of bad things I can say about this series. The first being after the first season it loses the good feeling you got at the start and the second is that it is Netflix exclusive. My conclusion is that this series alone almost gives you enough of a reason to subscribe to Netflix. A mesmerizing series that you should see, 9/10.
