Synopsis

Merrick and Rosso Unplanned was a free-form talk show hosted by Australian comedians Merrick Watts and Tim Ross, based on the UK talk show Baddiel and Skinner Unplanned. Produced by Granada Productions, the series debuted on the Nine Network on 3 September 2003. The show was the network television debut for the comedy duo. A highlight of the series involved comedian Scott Thomson who was dragged on stage to perform a hilarious stand up comedy routine which poked fun at Australian personalities, in particular Nikki Webster and Democrats politician Natasha Stott-Despoja. A telephone number appeared on screen at the end of the segment for viewers to call who had taken offence at Thomson's material.

Reviews

Mmmmm_What I love this DVD - I watch it and cry with laughter. Two thumbs up.These boys embrace Australian culture and make it funny with their laid back humour. Some questions directed at the boys from the audience are cringe worthy (see Questionable section of DVD) but the majority of the DVD is full of funny contents thou I'm not really a fan of their sketches. I was a little disappointed their catch phrases weren't included such as the classics 'g'day tiger', 'man-boobs', 'hello Australia' etc'.A top buy and I hope the second series will be available shortly on DVD.SPOILERFavorite bits: The girl and her $1,000.00 handbag which M&R decide to go through in front of the audience finding such little surprises as the girls birth control pills and tampons.
dell_of_dreams To be totally honest I never liked Merrick and Rosso's comedy until this show, they're two previous attempts at sketch comedy style shows Planet Merrick & Rosso and Super Planet Merrick & Rosso just never hit a funny nerve with me, however since becoming a convert through this show it would be interesting to see these two shows as well as take time out to listen to their radio programes and see what I now make of it all. This show is thoroughly entertaining, it features Merrick & Rosso sitting on a couch answering audience questions amongst other things and their brand of natural on the spot ad lib humour really works.Very Refreshing and highly recomended
shounak Despite being a great show its time slot can be improved. The opening dialogues (and sometimes Merrick monologues) often sound rehearsed and "planned". The questions sound genuine and both Merrick & Rosso answer them with their hearts. Funny pair, been seen various places finally chucked something decent together.
