eclecticbuzzard This show, which airs tonight for the final time, was a low budget show flying by the seat of its pants. It was unpolished and unglamorous. It appeared as if the producers made up the ideas for the games just hours before each episode aired. Almost all of the comments by the hosts were completely spontaneous, which is how it had to be since it the situation was constantly changing from one minute to the next. But all of this was its charm. It was less "Hollywood" and more personable. Viewers called in and their voices were broadcast on air. Viewers emailed in and their words were read on air by the hosts. There was a genuine connection between the show and its viewers, and the fans felt the connection. The questions in the games were deliberately easy, and clues that were given were deliberately obvious. It was an easy way for any lucky person to win a bunch of money from home. On the show's website there is a forum where many happy viewers told their winning stories.A viewer had his choice of calling in on a land-line for 99 cents per call (up to 10 times per night), or sending text messages for 99 cents each (up to 10 times), or by registering online for free (up to 10 times).I decided soon after the show's first night to stop spending $10 on land-line calls into the show, and use my 10 free online registrations each night. I had no difficulty with the online registrations. Almost every night I received at least one call-back from the show, but each of those times another viewer actually got through to the hosts. No disappointment though, I still enjoyed playing. I will really miss it. It was great fun and the hosts made it quite exciting and enjoyable.
cuboy I had seen the British version of this, and thought it was hilarious. It had this lady named Debbie King dancing about and talking to puppets and a cut-out of Morgan Freeman's head. That was definitely the highlight, was Debbie King having a conversation with Morgan Freeman's head. She even called it Morgan Freeman's head when she greeted it. It was so random, but it was funny.Just tonight I saw the US version on TBS. While not as random as the British version, it was still pretty funny. The two hosts, Danny and Jerrilee, were pretty funny. The best part was the awkward moments that can only happen on live TV. My favorite parts-During the game where they had to come up with the right word that followed the word "hard" ---Danny took a woman caller, who answered with the word "guy." It was wrong, but along the way Danny said, "A Hard Guy is Hard to find." The crew laughs and Danny awkwardly hides behind the board for a bit. Yay sexual innuendos! --Danny also took another caller, this one was a male though. The guy gave the answer "Hard Wood," which was actually one of the correct answers. Jerrilee said something about Danny and they guy having a male bond, Danny made some manly grunting noises, and everyone laughs again at the blatant homosexuality of it all...again. -The hosts growing frustration with the number of people who called in with the answers "hard hat," "hard body," "hard luck," and "hard work," even though the first several times someone said that answer it was wrong.During the game where they rearrange different sets of letters to make a word.--The 4 sets of letters given were "Her Od Fat Ho." Danny reads them and laughs. Jerrilee doesn't get it and reads them again, making it sound like "Her old, fat ho," because of her accent. Danny says not to make her read them again, and finally Jerrilee gets it and they all laugh at yet another dirty comment that crept into the show. The Night Cap game, that ended the show. The question that had to be answered was "Viewers want to see danny's ____?" and it had been mentioned a couple time throughout the show. Danny is very red when he reads this, because it's obvious what everyone is thinking. Apparently, it's something that viewers have been asking to see so Jerrilee says that the viewers have been saying, "Show us Danny's UH," making a grunting noise. Yay for more sexual awkwardness. Danny remarks that he hopes his parents aren't watching. Jerrilee says he should be proud, and Danny says that his parents "should be proud, they helped make them." Finally Danny takes a caller, Matt, and says to him, "I'm going to let Jerrilee ask you the question, because this is just too weird." The answer was "feet." Apparently someone wanted to see his feet, so he did show them off and Matt won $300 for getting the answer right, but the whole thing was very awkward and the sexual overtones just overshadowed the whole thing.Overall, I loved it!
rabidphil The only reason I'm giving this show that many is because stacey hayes is a hotty she reminds me of a British Stacy Keibler. The show itself sucks and is boring. Watch Conan or something at this time. Just flip to tbs at this time to see Stacy Hayes during a commercial. I hope to see the lovely stacey hayes in other sitcoms and feature films. If you do like game shows like this then maybe it is for you. The only reason I know about it is because I came upon it one night when I was bored. I stuck one minute of watching it because of her and then flipped to Conan. I don't even know why I'm writing a review for this show but one more time, the only reason to watch this show it to check out Stacy Hayes. Huh.
madison-abigail When I first heard of this it was exactly 15 minutes after the show began, I quickly became enthralled and wanted to learn how I can play. I got online and could not find any website including turner that gave me a link to register for free. Then I tried my cell phone, I text-ed what they said a "M" to the number specified for a dollar, 30 minutes later it welcomed me and said for more info text help. So I text-ed help. Again getting charged a dollar, then 30 minutes later and two games later I got a reply text, it said I will receive a call back in thirty seconds If I am selected if not play again. I immediately got back online and registered at TBS forums and saw nothing but complaints, someone calling people then hanging up on them. This game should be explained in greater detail. I was very disappointed with how unorganized they are. Also with the fact the hosts are giving away answers before people even call in. Just don't waste your money....GO to sleep!!!!
