TheViewers PeeYew This new season of MDL is unwatchable. The new guy is a pretentious, whiny fop. I really feel sorry for anyone who has to shake his hands given that he constantly runs them through his greasy hair. ewwww. This season the show also pretends to address gentrification. It's ridiculous. Fredrik Eklund does a few man on the street interviews and comes to the earth-shattering realization that what will address gentrification is cooking classes for kids and a renovated park. It never occurred to him to build affordable housing so that the people who run the shops and actually work in the lower east side of New York can continue to live there. He really thinks parks and cooking classes are doing SOMETHING. What an oversimplified joke. If actually people's lives were not at stake I'd say season is almost as funny as watching Fredrik pretend to pray...I'm not saying don't watch this season - watch it if you must. Just expect to hold your nose and muffle your laughter.
Arenas4812 I really enjoy the Million Dollar Listing series. I'm surprised I keep coming back. It's interesting to see high price real estate and the brokers that deal with them. I'm not a big fan of San Francisco or Miami, but I do enjoy L.A. and N.Y. This is my favorite of the franchise. I'm not going to lie, it does seem over the top and semi-scripted. But it is enjoyable. Frederick Van Ecklund, Ryan, and Luis make for an interesting dynamic on who's going to be the top agent in NYC. Frederick and Ryan deal w/ relationship issues while Luis deals with more of an age battle when it comes to selling real estate. Essentially Frederick and Ryan get into an occasional fight (a little physical). But for me the over the top sellers are what get me. I think you'll enjoy this show if you don't take it too seriously.
kendaljoe The show seems to have become progressively better over the seasons. I didn't like that Michael broker who was completely incompetent who was eventually ousted and replaced with Louis D. Ortiz who is a more interesting and inspiring character. Ryan is my favourite because he has a good sense of humour and is one of the leading in his professional field. Fredrik is far too self-obsessed and conceited which is frustrating to watch sometimes but one cannot deny that he is THE most successful broker in New York City. His book isn't worth reading though, as you can expect: it's all ME ME ME obviously. This show isn't for everyone though. I love property so I like to watch it for that reason I wish it had less reality TV focus on the brokers' lives and their personal drama that is unrelated to their professional careers but it draws you in to keep watching the show so it may be necessary for entertainment purposes. If you have no interest in the Real Estate world don't bother watching it because you won't enjoy it and in the end will give it bad reviews just because it isn't your cup of tea.
Marcin Bankowski So yet another "reality show" that follows lives of real estate brokers.I've watched few episodes of the same show from other cities and i kinda liked it,not everything but it was OK so i decided to watch it from the beginning. Now season 4 is out and i think it's the worst of them all.You can see people like the sellers or buyers literally pretending their emotions all the time and if you add the editing you basically end up with a show that is worse then some Brazilian soap operas. Also i've noticed that all the scenes are becoming shorter and shorter making it a good show for people with ADHD sindrom.Maybe in US people like this but for me shows like this has no value at all and if one day i become a millionaire who wants to buy a property i certainly will avoid these sellers.
