bazmitch23 I loved the first movie, hated the second. Heard about this show, but never saw it before. I found this in Poundland. The disc had five episodes. I watched it and my God, it was dull!It was talking and talking and talking and talking! And when it does get to the fight scenes, even they're boring! The acting is lame and the dire-logue is cringeworthy. Very Saturday cartoonish. Plus this is set 500 years before the events of the first movie and we have characters saying "Bathroom break" and "This sucks".They keep using the same shot from the first movie where we have the outside of the temple. You can tell it is from the first movie because we can see Liu Kang and his Grandpa in the background as clear as day. Why not digitally remove them?Sub-Zero's costume and Shao Kahn's helmet are so cheep looking due to the show's low budget.Apart from Tracy Douglas' nude scene from the fourth episode, I can't think of anything good from this show. And much like the movies, there is no gore. Boo.......If another MK series is made, deliver on the gore please. Maybe the directors of "Turbo Kid" might do a reboot, hopefully.
kemscastle4 I really loved enjoying this movie..but at a point I got mad....IF someone can answer this question..Y is RAIDEN taken to OUTWORLD by SHAO KAHN, that annoyed me a little bit. In Otherwords..I'll say keep it up..if there's a chance to make MORTAL KOMBAT TRILOGY, DEADLY ALLIANCE, DECEPTION,SHAOLIN MONKS and AMARGEDDON...that will definitely draw more fans to this show.I've been a fan of MORTAL KOMBAT and believe me, I have all the games from the genesis to AMARGEDDON..in fact my family as a whole..even the youngest in my family born in 1999 has come to love it.My favorite character is RAIDEN because I like the way he'll be ignoring everybody..looking for vacation each time he does something .ha! ha! ha!!. Anyway...KEEP IT UP.
TheDeaderman This was being broadcast around the time of Stairway To Heaven(at least where I lived), but since it wasn't copied as was STH, I think it worked out better. More or less taking advantage of the time from when Kung Lao won Mortal Kombat and until he dies in the next MK, they cover the time wonderfully on a general entertaining scale. I personally thought Paolo Montalban was unconvincing as Kung Lao and didn't really make a mark until the episode Quan Chi, in which I think is 9 episodes too late. Kristanna Loken was good for eye candy and nothing else. The only character, or rather, characters I liked was Rayden with his sharp with Siro behind him. Back when I was into MK, I liked this show a lot. But as a non fan, it doesn't really appeal to me anymore.
eilerson I started watching this show, cause I thought it was late night trash. Something to watch cause there was nothing else on. This all changed about 6-7 episodes into the series though. MKC started to introduce story arcs ( the characters memories arn't wiped after 45 mins for a new episode ). Things happen in this show, relationships and politics that you don't really expect. At the end of every episode, I was left saying to myself " that was the best episode yet...". The final episode totally confirms this, seeing as the show was not revived for a 2nd series, this is probably the most refreshing finale I have ever seen.
