I love all the hand-wringing - not in the show, but in these reviews. 'The gall of these people, changing the sacred text handed down to us by the one true Agatha!!' One guy goes on about how we'd never allow this sort of hanky panky with Shakespeare. I shudder to think of his reaction if he knew that Shakespeare has the honor (aye, honor) of being the most mutilated author of all time.
This is a taut thriller, beautifully acted and shot. It's plot devices are clever without ever getting too clever. Some might chomp at the pace at times, but I think it varies its pacing well. In all, very good.

Starts off well, and is an interesting story, but utterly hopeless screenplay and direction. Good acting, but four episodes padded out with repeating flashbacks, slow motion, pictures of clocks and photographs. Should have been two episodes. Writing this review during the 4th because I want to see "who done it" but I am utterly fed up. What a waste of time...
Seen the ending now. And it continues after that! Utter cr*p.

A darker adaptation of an A.C. work. No Marple or Poirot (good) a straight forward mystery with plenty of red herrings. Re-worked by Sarah Phelps ,sometimes these are overworked, get boring. This one wasn't. Morven Christie, who I'm a big fan of, was certainly in total control of her part and acted out in style. Nice to see Bill Nighy playing it straight to the end, not his usual cameo of an aging rock star. I also liked that they used a reverse of film and clock as not to confuse you in stating a look back in time. A mystery with twists and turns to the very end, supported by a fine cast.

If you can deal with terrible script and corny filming then the last episode is good. It's darker and better overall....just getting there is so difficult!
