In response to the Social Worker who was worried that children would grow up and learn that Oswald was the name of a murderer and somehow this would cause them stress- I must say that is about the silliest thing I have ever heard. Lee Harvey Oswald, of course, has two other names as well, should we likewise ban Lee and Harvey? Will listening to Paul Harvey or watching Harvey Kietel in a movie be a traumatic experience? I know I am being a little over the top here, but I I'm just trying to make a point. If these kids (and my daughter is one of them) grow up attaching a good connotation to "Oswald" then the show has successfully rescued an unpopular name.By the way, I'm sure the name "Oswald" was chosen because it begins with an "O" thus "Oswald the Octopus." I heard the first two choices for names were "Orenthal" (as in Orenthal James Simpson) and Othello (of Shakespeare fame)and strange enough- they both were murderers too!

Maybe I shouldn't be admitting this due to my age,but I cant help but love Oswald, and be captivated for the 15 minutes its on TV each day.The big friendly blue octopus is lovable and delightful, and is voiced appropriately by the gentle natured Fred Savage whose child-like enthusiastic and cheerful tone of voice brings the character of Oswald to life.I can see why little kids adore this show, because I always have a smile on my face when I'm watching it because its just so bright, happy and playful, and is a good quality show for the kiddies.Characters such as Oswald's best friends Weenie the Hot Dog,and Henry the Octopus are very cute and entertaining contributions to the show.I cant help but be in love with the show, and I don't care if I'm too old for it.I love the warm fuzzy feeling I get inside after watching it.Fun,cheerful and uplifting.

I saw this show when I was babysitting and the kids watched it. I thought it was so cute and sweet. Not annoying like Barney. Well written. Oswald and his friends are so adorable. I love how the Dachsund is a hot dog in a bun. Henry, the penguin, is way cool. All the voices on this show are perfect for their characters. A very cute, somewhat funny (i. e. the dog is a hot dog and bun), all around fun and quality show. I recommend it.

I enjoy watching this show with my 2 and 3 year olds. It's a non violent show and it does leave you with a 'warm fuzzy' feeling. My favorite character on the show is Henry (aka Squiggy from Lavern and Shirley). Don't get me wrong I like Oswald too but Henry is funny.
