Synopsis

Meet Peg, a curious and spunky preschooler, and her feline companion, Cat, who will rely on math "to tackle social and relationship issues and everyday problems like cleaning up a messy bedroom," Rotenberg says. Some of their dilemmas may be zany — like how to get 100 chickens back into their coop or how to feed a horde of hungry pirates with just one banana — but it's all solvable via mathematics and a zippy song.

Reviews

rosyredtulips @superkeegan's review, keep in mind that this show is for children. As in 3 to 8 year olds who are just learning math. I'm older than that but I still enjoy the show because it has moments when it's actually funny. It's also fun to watch. The Problem Solved song is short so I don't have a problem with it being used in every episode. It's actually kind of catchy in fact. And if you'd rather watch Johnny Test than this, well, that's your personal preference because Johnny Test is nowhere near as educational as this show.Anyway, this show is really educational and it's great for young children in preschool, kindergarten, first grade, and even second grade. Hope it lasts on air.
superkeegan Am I the ONLY one who HATES this god-awful show? The title characters, Peg and Cat, won't shut up, they always sing that stupid "Problem Solved" song (which, by the way, is sung in EVERY EPISODE), and there's always a surprise musical number when I least expect it. A lot of you are going to disagree, well, I don't care. I'd rather watch Johnny Test or Problem Solverz (probably the inspiration for the "Problem Solved" song.). The only thing good about the show is- oh, who am I kidding? There is no good thing about this show! This is one of the most god awful shows in the history of television. Let your kids watch Nature Cat or something other than this god-awful show. Unless they like surprise musical numbers or protagonists that won't shut up!
morrisonusjamus My daughter absolutely loves this show and so do my wife and I. It mixes bright colours, math problems and very well done musical scores. I have too admit I had never thought that kids could really learn from a TV show, but she can now count to 5 and is even learning a few words and shapes. Everything she learns from this show can be applied away from the TV with her learning toys which is what I really like. All in all this is the show your kids should be watching, it's not weird or goofy for no reason and rather witty. Another nice thing is that there is some adult humour thrown in the background (not rude or crass mind you) but something too keep the parent as well as the child interested. I recommend too any and all looking for a good show that won't completely rot your child's brain.
Elizabeth Regrac I do not understand how anyone would not love this show. It is absolutely wonderful! It features a girl who is not obsessed with princesses and loves solving math-based problems. I have an almost 5 yr. old son who loves it more than any other show. Every single one of his friends, male and female, also love it as it is interesting, insightful, and addresses common childhood issues with a spirit of fun and inquisitiveness. I would like to thank PBS for another amazing production and I hope that negative reviews never deter them from making such high quality, educational shows. If you want your child to watch only television that expands their minds and educates them, you MUST have them watch this show. Well done PBS. Thank you.
