I think we can all be reassured that this major network will not be renewing what appears to be "testing the summer waters" show. As many other reviewers have noted, the superficial premise and the set up are revolting. We watched this several times, hoping that it might improve as time went on --- now it's clear that the network showed no interest in refining the show as time went on. The entire script (for the host and the shrouded person) is banal and redundant to the degree of being nauseating (every episode has the hidden person say something like: "the first gentlemen I would like to get to know better is.... "). Maybe the studio did a marathon, and shot all 8 episodes within a few days? The audience has been coached to be uber-expressive [read: flailing arms, gaping mouths, gushing names of their favorites]. The title graphics for the show are beyond cornball. Why did this network think that viewers would like this?

I thought the Gong show was bad. The proposal was uncomfortable and awkward to watch. How can shows like this be on and Last Man Standing goes off the air. What idiot thought this was a good idea? I hope it gets cancelled. Come on ABC is it that hard to put decent tv on the air. It might stand a chance if you show them going on dates after the selection. Well that's an hour i wont get back. Awful. Terrible. Stupid. Insulting.
