Java_Joe Amusement is what you get when you take a bunch of half-baked stories, add tons of plot holes and random elements and then try to market it as something scary. It fails on just about every single level. It's told as a sort of anthology series where there's a connecting thread in which some guy is angry at a bunch of girls for how they treated him in the past. And that's pretty much the plot. Each story focuses on one of the girls and this guy's attempt to bring her down for what she did to him. It's never really explained until the end and you think that it was something really heinous like humiliating him in front of the entire school. Instead it's something that he himself is responsible for and showed that he was really creepy even back then. And you'd think that the image of the clown on the front cover would play a part in all parts of this movie but it doesn't. It only appears in one. But then we all know that clowns are pretty creepy so why not just add that for the hell of it?Honestly, this is a movie that you should just ignore. It's beyond stupid and is really not worth your time.
atinder I didn't know what expect from this.I thought it was decent movie, I liked some of the sub plots of it.And they all come together.I liked the start of, when a young couple Drive and there twist and turns in those scenes, which really surprised me at the time.Liked scene with Clown , thought it was so-what creepy but very predicable. The rest of it, I can't remember much, only watched last night, Some parts of the movie are very forgettable. The acting was decent, compare to the last movie I saw.5 our of 10
Tonymjacques When I first saw the preview for this film I thought, "Wow looks pretty freaky." So, one day I looked it up on netflix and watched it. Well by the end of the movie the only thing I could say was "What?" I mean right from the beginning this movie made absolutely no sense. So here's an example/SPOILER. The first scene of the movie shows a young couple going on a convoy (following someone completely random)to a gas station. Once they get there they get out of the car and meet the person they were following (which just happens to be the killer who is targeting the girl out of the young couple). Another small example/SPOILER would be when the main character is being interviewed by a detective and then once she leaves the room, the main character follows only to find that she's not even in a police station, instead she's in what appears to be a large dungeon? This didn't make an ounce of sense to me. But anyway, the only thing that was good was the production value, but that's it. Cheap dialogue, corny acting and lack of common sense are seen every character making this nothing more than another typically crappy horror film. The story was weird and was a bit pointless in a sense of logic, but it was creepy at a few points. This movie is short though, so watch it if you want something to make fun of. I gave it 1 star for the decent gore and the other for production value.
scarletheels Amusement is a movie that I've had on my list for quite some time, mostly because of the scary ass clown on the cover. Like 99.9% of the cover art done for modern day movies, it's greatly misleading. There is one semi-intense scene that will provoke your coulrophobia and it was only included, I suspect, as an excuse to create an enticing DVD spread for horror fans.Starting off with the plot, this movie doesn't have one, at least not a coherent one or one that makes an iota of sense. The film is a mish mash of discombobulated scenarios consisting of a maniac stalking three young women because they they didn't find his mutilated-rat-in-a-box particularly funny or entertaining a decade earlier. Talk about holding a grudge. A dumb one.Visually, the movie works. I mean, really works. So does the acting, surprisingly. All of the violence is done off-camera. This isn't a slasher, torture porn (although, with different direction, it could have easily ventured into that territory), or even a mystery/suspense. It was originally slated for theatrical release until the distributor sent it packing straight-to-video after viewing it and it's no brainteaser why. Despite above-par acting and some pretty kick ass locations and sets, Amusement is dragged down by a muddled script, zero scares, and a cookie-cutter villain. It's not even so bad, it's funny.
