liambl A group of three documentarians, Tyler (played by Tad Hilgenbrink), his friend Lalo (played by Alex Wyndham) and his girlfriend Serina (played by Janet Montgomery) go on a journey to look for a lost snuff film with said title. They soon meet a stripper named Alexa (played by Sophie Monk) who, as it turns out, is the daughter of "said film" maker, Wilson Wyler Concannon. All four of them continue the journey as Tyler begins having the feeling that they are being watched. With a premise like that, let me just say that I was not expecting very much from this film. It could very well have been one of those movies that are as bad as people usually make them out to be. But that really isn't the case with this. As soon as I had watched the opening, I thought that this would be nothing but an unintelligent gore-fest. Was I right, not really. As the film goes on, it's actually quite tense. The characters are actually well fleshed out. Tyler is the determining leader of the group, as he is the one who is obsessed with finding said film, so much that he neglects everyone he knows. His friend Lalo may seem like the typical stoner, but he's really just the typical yes-man to everything, not that that's a bad thing. Despite being the most oblivious, he still manages to make a decent impression. As for the Serina, I had a blast watching her on screen. She may seem as the ambiguous girlfriend, but, once again, as the film goes on, she actually makes a name for herself.Last, but not least, we have Alexa, the "leading" character. The fact that actress Sophie Monk has top-billing, surely, she would not be used as eye-candy. But was she … not entirely. As I said, she is a stripper the first-time Tyler meets her. And at times, we do see her bare jugs. But besides that, she does have an actual purpose. Like I said before, she is the daughter of a snuff filmmaker. With all of that said, are there any flaws, definitely. But the only one that I had with it was the twist. While I'll admit that I didn't see it coming, it did feel like a clique to me. But other than that, I'm sure that this movie will give you the same unnerving feeling it gave me.
deatman9 I was kind of nervous at first watching this movie because I heard it was a straight to DVD thing but I was bored so I decided to give it a try. For a horror movie I got to say that it actually has some pretty decent writing and twists and turns. Not you typical slasher film which is good. The only real complaint with this one is the acting exspecially from Tad Hilgren or whatever his name is. You may remember him better from on of the terrible American Pie spinoffs. And he was a far better actor in that then in this frankly hes just terrible. The others were not too bad however so it was watchable. The blood looked terribly fake though so.This movie is about a guy who is obsessed with horror movies. With one impaticular that never was released to the public. Apparently because it was so gory and sadistic. So the guy goes on the look for the orgins of the tape and the tape its self starting with the only known living cast member...the directors daughter. This movie was pretty good I really wish a studio could have picked this up and upped the budget a bit because you can tell its low.
Joe Miller Well a while back I saw clips of this movie in a fan-made music video and I spent a good 2 or 3 weeks trying to find out the name of this movie ( all I saw was Babyface and some gore shots ). I really looked everywhere for this movie but living in a small town in South Dakota we don't have many stores that have movies. So finally I just started looking online and I found this and was really excited about watching it!But.... when I started it I kinda was disappointed. I still watched it hoping it got better but it really didn't. You could really guess what was going to happen in the next shot and well that's never fun in a horror movie right?I gave this a 4 because the story really didn't capture me and it just didn't interest me all that much.~Joe
Peter Stiglitz The Hills Run Red is a slasher/horror film and it is one of the best of its kind to be released in a long time. The Hills Run Red is a perfect slasher film. It is very bloody and it has a villain that feels like a classic villain just like Jason Voorheese and more. The film is scary and tense and has a lot of unexpected twists. The acting is very good and a special compliment goes to Sophi Monk who is very believable in this role. The kills are good and the concept for the film is an original one and very cool. I want to see more of Babyface and I hope there will be a sequel. This film is bloody, sexy, funny, scary and good film to watch with friends on a Friday night. I give it 7/10 and hope horror and slasher fans will support it!
