robert-85923 Firstly let me say that I was needled into watching this - my every inclination was not to. No one should show this to a young LGBTI Christian. It's the sort of thing that could push someone over the edge. It should have a health warning on it. Living Waters and other ex-gay ministries are responsible for the suicide deaths of many young LGBTI Christians who feel condemned by this kind of judgemental narrative.I've seen some rubbish in my time but this has to be the pits (as opposed to the pinnacle). Calling it a "film" is stretching the term beyond breaking point. It's just 55 minutes of fundamentalist, judgemental twaddle. It's not even Christian. The name of Jesus is barely mentioned and as for His message of love, acceptance, forgiveness and grace: it doesn't get a look in. Don't be fooled by the blurb or the innumerable positive but fake reviews (just look at the date stamps - nearly all the same and when you look at the reviewers profiles they've only reviewed one film - this one). It's not "fresh" or "new." It's trite, hackneyed and cringeworthy. Not even if you like this film does it deserve 10 out of 10. It's extremely poorly written, jumps around with vox pops interviews jammed in the middle of the narrative. It's badly edited and filmed and the acting is at best wooden. I've seen better student films. It makes no attempt to examine the other perspective and instead is simply an extended piece of one-sided propaganda. Do yourself a favour and don't. It was a waste of 55 minutes of my life.
Davis P Audacity is just a religious attack on the LGBT community. A man randomly puts down a sweet gay couple, and really insults them. I love how everything is masked in that whole ohhhh it's not me, it's the bible. I'm so sick of people hiding behind religion and the bible to randomly insult and put down people. If you don't like gays, say it, don't hide and be some coward. Also, the acting is AWFUL. Oh my god they were not even trying! Such awful stale acting and cheesy cliché material. And yes you guessed it! Ray Comfort is as annoying as freaking ever. This movie actually infuriated me. It's cliché, dumb, stale, hurtful to LGBT individuals, and just annoying. Also, the Christians in this film are very high and mighty and act like they are superior to everyone, it's disgusting and hurtful to see. All this movie does is make you feel sorry for the LGBT people being impacted. Watch Prayers For Bobby instead. Now that IS a good film!! :)
LauraLeeWasHere Part documentary, part story, part stand up comedy routine, all of it relevant as society continues to heat up on the debate of Gay Marriage and Homosexuals & Lesbians within the Christian/ Church going community. However, my expectations were blown out of the water when I watched this film (in it's full version on YouTube) and discovered myself both entertained and even laughing out loud at places. Also, there are so many "coincidences" connecting me to this movie, I felt it might be Destiny for me to see it when I did. Right down to the fact that I actually possess a bogus Million Dollar Bill, in Canadian format. (Actually, it might be the real deal but with what Canadian currency is worth around the world, it comes to the same difference). As you know, if you've read my previous reviews, I can ramble on for a VERY long time, especially when discussing something I enjoyed. I don't give many films a rating of 9, but I'm going to "shutteth" my mouth & "stoppeth" my typing because I'm "wastething" your time (that's me doing Bible talk) and I'll let you zip over to YouTube and watch "Audacity" for free. Trust an Aussie, Ray Comfort, to examine a topic sideways and make you see something in a way that you never have before. When I saw the title, "Audacity" I thought it might be a horror film about someone taken hostage when their computer sound editing program develops artificial intelligence and creates a post- apocalyptic society. Boy. Was I off the mark. It's really a breath of fresh air on a topic that's become hot and stifling because it seems that EVERYTHING that can be said about gay and lesbian marriages has been. So whether you're straight, gay, lesbian or just prefer the love of your cat with a 'thing' for toe biting - ("Hey, don't judge me. At least he always shows up in time for dinner!!!")) you will feel better after seeing "Audacity". Tell them LAURA-LEE sent you. (It won't get you anything, but it might compensate me for the less attention I'm getting for cutting this review short). Sincerely, Laura-Lee (Was Here)P.S. Is it breaking the hard and fast "Spoiler Warning" rule here at IMDb if I tell you there's a good "Knock, knock" joke in this film? If you don't read another review from me here, you'll know the answer is "Yes!"
michellehester-77142 Obviously done on a budget, but this film does a good job of showing why Christians share the gospel of Christ with those around them. We love our neighbors and want them to be reconciled to God, be saved, and go to heaven when they die just as we have been forgiven and saved. I keep seeing reviews on here saying that it is another "hate" movie. I don't get it. There is absolutely no hate expressed in the movie, just love, concern, and a willingness to suffer for an unsaved friend. At the very least, you'd think people would recognize that it's about love, not hate. That said, it was clearly done on a small budget, but that doesn't take away its great message. I especially liked the scene at the convenience store...makes me wonder how many of us would really put ourselves in the line of fire to save another person, and whether that person would really appreciate if if they knew that the reason we did so was because we were worried they'd end up in hell with no chance of reconciliation to God. But then, would it matter what they thought as long as they got another chance to repent and turn toward the One who made them before it's too late? Things to think about.
