FlashCallahan Depending on how you take to Chris Farley will decide on your opinion of this film, because it's the Chris Farley show, and nothing will stand in his way, not even the narrative......a baby is rescued by a clan of Ninja warriors and raised by them as one of their own. But Haru, as he is called, never quite fits in, nor does he manage to make a worthy Ninja. However, the good-natured and persevering Haru, in his own bumbling way, and with some help from his step-brother, he helps a damsel in distress from her atypical bad guy boyfriend.......Chris Farley is a Ninja. If that wets your whistle, then go ahead, endure the film for what it is, and hour and a half of him falling over, picking up weapons, destroying items, and acting like a fool. Yes, you may baulk at the idea, but. This guy made a career of doing this, and if it wasn't for his untimely death, I'm sure he would have had a few more years of milking the fact that people flocked to see where he would fall next. The plot isn't up to much, some guy wants to counterfeit money, and Haru gets involved, by referencing Fletch and Beverly Hills Cop.It's never funny, Robin Shou shows up with the Mortal Kombat soundtrack to offer some slow motion fighting, and then Farley hits him over the head. The late nineties were rife with these SNL alumni comedies being released almost every month. You knew which ones they were, because they would do below average business in North America, and end up on a video shelf here in the U.K., featuring a big sticker on the box stating 'Starring Chris Farley, he was in in Wayne's World for a couple of minutes'.Chris Rock turns up in an embarrassing role, and it all finishes with someone in a wheelchair being hurled off a cliff. And apparently this is Christian Bales favourite film.....
Irishchatter Some people say Chris Farley is better off with David Spade. However I think he is still funny as hell regardless! Man, he just got the moves of a true karate kid and champion!I know he was with Chris Rock, it just was so disappointing that he didn't have enough scene's. Both of them would have been great partners to kick the bad guys butts. I wouldn't call them ninjas, I would rather call them Hollywood legends cause really that's who they really are!Robin Shou was awesome. He had amazing stunts and was great in disguising himself as different people so Farley wouldn't know he's really helping him. I really wish I could do these karate moves if I was into doing them a lot lol. That's not gonna happen any time soon unfortunately!I don't know why Chris Farley wasn't proud in doing this film, it was brilliant thanks to him!
ericcee This movie took classic jokes but put them into suck odd places it makes them feel new. So the general plot is that Haru is a baby found on the shore of japan. An old legend of a foreign boy. now for the first time (or at least from the movies I've seen) They had a incorrect "Legend".This movie took classic jokes to new levels. This movie was great and I think that it was a great movie for a quick laugh! now onto the cons. -as it did have some jokes that felt new, others were just the same old ones from about every other movie that used them. Finally is that sometimes everything had the worst luck, I know this is a common element in comedy's but it's really getting old. But overall this is a great movie!
ichocolat Story goes that Haru (Chris Farley) was adopted by a Ninja clan. Well, becoming a ninja is a natural thing for him, Not! he barely passed his ninja lessons and whilst learning he has caused many injuries to his friends and to the monastery too! When a beautiful young lady (Nicolette Sheridan) came to the monastery he got involved in an investigation into a suspected illegal money counterfeiting syndicate. Haru goes around doing his business, the unusual way, and that makes it very hilarious!Chris Farley simply rocks ! His antics is without doubt hilarious and downright funny! His fumble and stumble are addictive and there is never a dull moment in this movie. Yeah, some people may feel annoyed to see the same spastic jokes, but not for me!
