Synopsis

No one is safe when seemingly random killings emerge as a deadly pattern intended to usher in the end of the world. A murder victim with the same DNA as Christ. A serial killer mimicking the deaths of the 12 Apostles. Inspector Niemans and a young, rebellious detective team up with a beautiful expert in religion to crack the case before their elusive suspect completes the cycle of terror, paving the way to an even bigger bloody catastrophe.

Lee Bartholomew Wish the movie was more fleshed out. Loved a lot of the cinematography in this movie. Was a rare treat for that. The story is unique in most parts of the film. But the loose ends aren't tied up. The first movie was a smart movie. Very rare indeed. This one has taken on a more supernatural movie. The belief system has completely failed here. But as far as movies go, it's better than a lot of crap out there. Didn't like the score as much as the original. But the suspense is still in the sequel. Perhaps more so. The creators here though continue to go to great locations. I ought to find a ticket and read some books over there. :)One thing I found interesting, a lot of the movie played like a video game. Not sure why. Although the French website for this movie has a section that looks like it's promoting a Myst like game. 6/10Quality: 6/10 Entertainment: 9/10 Replayable: 7/10
Claudio Carvalho In Lorraine, close to the border of Germany, the Chief Inspector Pierre Niemans (Jean Reno) is investigating the death of a man behind of a wall of an isolated abbey. Meanwhile, the efficient detective Reda (Benoît Magimel) is investigating the attempt of murder of a man called Jesus. They come to the same point along their investigations, join forces with the detective Marie (Camille Natta), a specialist in religious matter, and fight against Heinrich von Garten (Chritopher Lee), a German Minister of Culture and Religion, and a group of powerful monks. What a mess is this "Les Rivières Pourpres II - Les Anges de l'Apocalypse"! Using the same character of Niemans from the good "Rivières Pourpres", this movie has some good moments, such as the dark atmosphere and Reda pursuing a monk through roofs, houses, sheds and streets. But the plot is totally confused and quite silly, wasting what could be a good movie. I expected much more, and in the end I was completely disappointed with this movie. My vote is six.Title (Brazil): "Rio Vermelhos 2 – Anjos do Apocalipse" ("Red Rivers 2 – Apocalypse Angels")
Movie Nuttball Crimson Rivers 2: Angels of the Apocalypse is a very good film that has a good cast which includes Jean Reno, Benoît Magimel, Christopher Lee, Camille Natta, Johnny Hallyday, Gabrielle Lazure, Augustin Legrand, Serge Riaboukine, André Penvern, Francis Renaud, David Saracino, Michaël Abiteboul, Eriq Ebouaney, Jo Prestia, Cyril Raffaelli, and Lena Jam-Panoi! The acting by all of these actors is very good. Reno, Magimel, Lee, and Natta are really excellent in this film. I thought that they performed good. Lee is once again a good bad guy! The thrills is really good and some of it is surprising. The chase scenes are some of the greatest ever seen ever in My opinion! The movie is filmed very good. The music is great by Colin Towns. The film is quite interesting and the movie really keeps you going until the end. This is a very good and thrilling film. If you like Jean Reno, Benoît Magimel, Christopher Lee, Camille Natta, Johnny Hallyday, Gabrielle Lazure, Augustin Legrand, the rest of the cast in the film, Thrillers, Action, Dramas, and interesting films then I strongly recommend you to see this film today! Movie Nuttball's NOTE: The DVD is all subtitled inEnglish. None of the actors or actresses speak English but only French and possibly German. But please do not pass up this great film just because of that as it is an excellent film indeed!
Framescourer Pretty dreadful franchisy sequel. Apart from Dahan's (French) meditative camera-work inbetween stock action filming there's absolutely nothing original about this film at all. To name all the contrivances and their lineage would be as boring as the film itself: suffice to say that if you've seen Bond, Indiana Jones and The.., Seven and even The Matrix you've probably covered most of this.Of the cast, Magimel has the 'cute' of Cassel (from the first) but not his charisma. Reno is the one holding it together, although his ennui is rather more phoned-in for this one. And simply putting Christopher Lee in a film - doing his sect-leader yet again - does not rubber-stamp it with integrity (he's left out to dry almost as much as the redundant chick-interest, Natta).I did, however, enjoy an unwittingly (?) postmodern thrill-sequence set in the supermarket. If only there were more of this invention 3/10
