f-50093 I love the movie. A lovely girl who is in love with a house. And dad and mum who love their daughter and help her to realize his dream. The passionate to pursue the winning is also great. Dakota is a actress I like. And I also like her in move Man on Fire. Dakota is doing well in the movie. the music is also great. The scene in the movie is also great. The length is proper for such a story and in a good arrangement. And the family is having trouble in finding the money for the race is impressive. The cost of pursuing the dreamer is sometime expensive. In the end, when we see the victory, we shall also remember all the hard the have met.
debruin1975 Well, kinda lost for words... if you are a true horse lover (or maybe own horses) get this movie. If you despise horses: leave it on the shelve. But this film has everything: the love of a young girl for a broken down horse is so intense, you'll be in no time right in the middle of this movie. And the finale is so.... wait, I don't spoil it. You gotta see it to believe it! 10 out of 10. (or maybe even higher!)I had seen this movie in the cinemas and I just had to see this one, but I could not find it. They only had the (terribly dubbed!) dutch version. I browsed every store and finally: at last I found the movie, included was a cdrom with some neat demos but I only care for this magnificent movie. And o yes: try to run this movie in Dolby Surround: you won't believe you ears!
patterrain22 Saw this movie in November 2008 for the first time. Makes my eyes water and makes me feel good, real good every time. Contrary to what some folks claim, I didn't know what was going to happen from one moment to the next and there is surprise and suspense throughout. Loved the music and the dialogue. This movie doesn't rely on foul language, sex, violence or props like constantly ringing telephones. It's just a decent, well made, beautiful movie that reaches for goodness and delivers. When I'm sad or down I watch Dreamer because it never fails to make me feel good. But if you're out of touch with your feelings, hard hearted or cynical, you'll be disappointed. Thank you John Gatins for winning the "Triple Crown" with "Dreamer", my new favorite film."Rags to Riches" the first filly in 100 years to win the "Belmont Stakes" in 2007 is pregnant by "Giants Causeway" the real life colt of "Mariah's Storm" the horse who is the inspiration for "Dreamer".
thumpergirl03 Let me start off by saying that i wasn't totally disappointed with this movie. I'm a big fan of thoroughbred movies (i liked Seabiscuit and Ruffian)i don't know maybe it's because i'm an animal lover. But I will say that a lot of the scenes were very predictable (horse gets injured old trainer/veterinarian offers to nurse her back to health owner is your typical a****** bad guys are Arabian sheiks who knows how they got rich). The scenery and racing scenes were beautiful. The music mediocre only. The relationship between father and daughter comes of as more of a father son relationship. I will say that i don't like Dakota Fanning especially after War of the worlds. She acts beyond her years in this film, like an urban teen/young adult instead of 10 year old girl. Her feeding the horse Popsicles every night was stupid. And lastly anyone should know that a horse falling on its neck like that would cause more damage than just a broken leg. I won't give away the ending but all in all just a mediocre film.
