people. This is not some Shakespearean, high falootin' , artsy, fartsy film here. Its a great film to watch with your main squeeze : relax and go on a suspenseful horror trip. And what a trip it was. This film could have been based On real events. The title says it all..a prison inmate with a huge chip On his shoulder escapes and man this guy goes on a terryfying rampage. This cat, Purcell plays the part like a violin. He'll scare the pants off you or Give the weak of heart palpitations he is so good in the role. Unlike some of the crap horror movies around that go for cheap thrills With lots of gore this movie is more brainy than that. But its still loaded with suspense and real life situations!! If you like pretty girls, good looking lead actors and a good real story that gives you chills, then watch this flic, dudes!

Always check before rating to see if the actors are good. They pass the test in this movie. Dominique Purcell excels as the villain and so does that Evangelista chick. Both very believable because of their talent and the well written script! Also cool to see Faith Ford who graced our TV screens over the years with her talents and beauty!!I see her husband, Campion Murphy wrote and directed Escapee: nice job!! You hit one out of the park, Buddy! I'm not into giving spoilers here so look out for the different well placed twists and turns in the plot. The cover is scary: that's what made me buy it at Walmart!! Overall I give it a 9 out of 10..

I purchased the BluRay at Amazon and can tell you this movie is more of a strong thriller/suspense film with loads of horror elements. It is not your typical cheap, slasher gore-fest although there are many horrifying moments to even satisfy the most hardcore horror fan. What I liked about the movie is that there are several twists to the story so try and stay sober people if you want to wrap your head around what the screenwriter is trying to tell you,his audience! The script was as tight as the acting. Dominic Purcell is amazing as a human beast and the female leads are simply gorgeous, I give this movie 2 thumbs up, a hi-5 and bravo to its parents, Campion Murphy & Emmy Award Actress/Producer, Faith Ford who must be quite proud of this baby :)

OK, I found the poster promising, so I bought this DVD.Initially it seemed to keep upto my expectation with the creepy opening scene of the psycho leaving his victim as a trophy in the woods. Also, for a few more scenes, the suspense & the tension does not drop. I braced myself for the next strike from the madman. I braced, I braced and I braced. And that's all I was doing! Soon the movie moved tediously. Seems the killer decides to stalk his victims at his own sweet pace(much to our madness!) while our pretty girls jump at every Tom, Dick & Harry noise out there! And there are certain "exposing" conversations between our characters that's supposed to shock or keep us glued to what's happening but instead confuses us as they don't make any sense. If they could have done away with these unnecessary dialogs, the story could have been more engaging to me.I appreciate the performances(at least some) though like Dominic Purcell as the psycho. His glaring looks & cold body language did decent justice to his character. Even Evangelista as Abby did pretty well. Rest of the actors were average. It's just a movie but at the end of the day, I still wish the plot had made more sense.Verdict: Learn from my mistake and escapee far away from this movie!
