silvan-desouza Rajkumar Hirani and VVC are back after 3 Idiots(2009) with a new director Rajesh Mapsukar(AD of Hirani in LRMB) The film is a reality plus a fairytale and the film manages to evoke emotions in you and makes you laugh, cry The film has several assets, first of all the film is unique, the story however far-fetched yet is not a south copy nor a Hollywood remake(as far as I know) like most Hirani films. This too has a feel good feeling and is an entertaining film overall The ambitions, trials and tribulations are all heartfeeling The family of Kayo(Sharman, Boman and Ritwik) seems so non-filmy and realistic, their problems are identifiable There are several filmy scenes which are predictable too like Sharman reaching the ground just at the right time, also the way all greet his sixes and fours and break into a song is quite filmy but yet such scenes are entertaining too Another factor going against is perhaps the film has several make believe scenes like the Corporator track looks so misfit in the film with realistic characters. Much more involving are the scenes of the domestic help and Deepak Shirke The scenes involving Kayo and Rustom are great too while the scenes involving Boman and Sharman are great too The film does go the fantasy way in between and the entire ferrari track does seem far fetched but it is well handled The finale outburst of Sharman again is filmy but it's moving nonetheless. The manner in which the film ends too is filmy and clichéd yet it evokes the emotions in you Another problem is it's unwarranted length of 2 and 1/2 hrs(18 reels) which is too long for such a film and the film does drag at several places Another problem is the films too convenient at several places and could be much betterDirection is good, the best scenes are those involving Kayo's family, while the gangster scenes seem off track Music is decent, the title song is superb, Vidya's song Mala Jaun De seems forced The song which is in background is superb Dialogues are funny and superb The Parsi colony is superb too, the Christmas- new year feel in the film with xmas trees and all is superb While the Maharastrian dialogues and all are well suited too Sharman Joshi started off in small roles in GODMOTHER(1999) and Lajja(2001) but got most praise for Style(2001) and followed by the dud sequel Xcuse Me and many forgettable films and then his comeback was Rang De Basanti, Metro, 3 Idiots which put him on the right track This is perhaps his first solo film and he carries the film on his shoulders, yet again he gives a natural performance Once known as a funster, the actor proves that he can deliver in all roles and does a great job as usual Boman Irani gets into the skin of the character yet again, in all Hirani films he portrays variety of roles and all with get ups, here too he gets into the character with a bent shoulder, unshaven beard, thick specks and you forget you're watching Boman Irani He is flawless Ritwik is a natural and is a welcome addition to the list of talented child artistes. Amongst rest Deepak Shirke seen after a while does a great job Paresh Rawal has 2-3 scenes but does a superb job Satyadeep Mishra(couch) is superb, Nilesh Diwekar as Pakya is funny The actor playing the corporator is good too but their track doesn't work Seema Pahwa, The actress playing the wedding planner is a natural, also the owner of the garage and others
Ashish Gupta Vidhu Vinod Chopra along with his team and new director Rajesh Mapuskar has given another reason to celebrate the sensible cinema and making one more positive contribution to the Year 2012 which would be known for the best known scripts like Pan Singh Tomar, Kahaani and Shanghai .Ferrari ki Sawari hits the right chord with the right intention. The story revolves around Rusy Deboo(Sharman Joshi ) a RTO officer and a single parent who is living his simple life with Kayo (Ritvik Sahore) his only son and his father Behram (Boman Irani). Kayo's dream is to become like Sachin Tendulkar –The Cricket Legend and his endurance for the same positioned him as the captain of his school's cricket team. But, next what? An announcement by his coach (Satyadeep Mishra) raised Kayo's hope to play at the Mecca of cricket i.e. Lords England to take his dreams at the next level but the salary of a honest RTO officer does not made his father eligible to avail the Loan facility from banks and Employee Provident fund of Shining India Govt brings on guarantee to help the employee right on time. So what's the Way out? Is it a Ferrari ? If Yes, how it gonna do that? These are the questions on which movie further revolves. The beauty of a movie lies in its characters notably 'Sholay' or to quote recent 'Kahaani' and fortunately Rajesh Mapuskar made that feel good with his characters whether its Seema Bhargava as a wedding planner, Tendulkar's domestic helper, security guard, politician & his son, traffic policeman and Paresh Rawal , as a selection committee member; all characters could be recalled easily despite the length of their roles.Regarding performances ,In 3 idiots Sharman was told to made noise of Motor in classroom and it was felt that the sound would be heard more clear in future and with this Sawaari of Ferrari he is riding high on his best performances till date without a doubt. Ritvik Sahore as Kayo keeps you amazed with his performance and Boman Irani has proved his versatility of playing any sort of role with this movie.Overall this is one rare Father –Son relationship Indian movie which explores the beauty of parental relationship with honesty and pride and promise to make this Ferrari ki Sawari more enjoyable. It might not make 100 crores at theaters but there are few fruits which ripen and becomes sweet with time…This movie is That.Read Full review at www.thecritiquelab.com
dineshprakash Watched "FERRARI KI SAWAARI". Ride was just like an economical class car ride not the luxurious one. It is an average movie. Positive mouth publicity seems difficult. First few scenes are really impressive. They tried to make realistic cinema but it is not very easy. After few scenes, they kneeled down to the word cinematic liberty. They misused it very well. Even the main plot of Ferrari was very fictitious, some time at the level of being illogical. If the movie belongs to 2012 then how can one relate that an honest head clerk of R.T.O can't manage to collect one lac and fifty thousand rupees. Dialogues by Mr. Rajkumar Hirani are enjoyable. Performance of Mr. Boman Irani is par excellence. Sharman Joshi is quite good even the boy Ritwik Sahore is very good. Music is not massy or classy. They tried to put some commercial aspect by keeping an item no but not the music, choreography or performances are enjoyable. They used graphics also to lure the kids but nowadays kids are very smart. Just after watching the few frames they can easily tell that is it Spiderman part..... It will not work in single screen but in multiplexes will work till some extent but one shouldn't give credit to the film for this, it is the big banner and their reputation.
soni-vikasvardhan The script is weak followed by an equally poor screen play by Sharman Joshi. Through the movie he is found crying and this become unbearable at the end.. Not a jolly watch as compared to the last few from Vidhu Vinod Chopra... Nothing impressive in the movie. The movie has instance where it tries to catch pace but these patches are followed by weak links and you only hear KAYO KAYO at times.Sharman has not acted to his potential and at last when he starts crying, it becomes impossible to bear him.The best part is Boman Irani, he impresses with his dialogue delivery as well his aura. Drenched completely in the role, he impresses a lot. Music is OK and except the item song by Vidya Balan there is not a single line to hook onto your tongue..In all, the story is weak and nothing could help a weak story.
