MysteryMouse ...DON'T BOTHER. A rubbish, not-even-student-grade film. Apparently, given its only synopsis here which seems to be written by one of its overly enthusiastic and underly talented 'creators', it hopes to ride on the coat-tails of 70s B schlockers. Even if you enjoy badly done crap as a source of humor, don't waste your time. It's even more boring and banal than it is amateurish.I can't believe I wasted even these last five minutes of my life reviewing this. All I can say is, I watched this so that YOU DON'T HAVE TO.Now making up this timewaster's undeserved but obligatoryTenLinesOf Text.. Done.
FlashCallahan I love Zombie movies. The whole sub-genre is a wonderful idea, and the past few years or so has helped and hindered this beloved creature. But for every Night Of The Living Dead, there is a Day Of The Dead remake, and for every Shaun Of The Dead, there are trashy films like this. The first big flaw in the films, is that the Zombies are not the main focus. I know the makers of this film are trying to focus more on the main characters, but the outbreak of the Flesh Eaters, is never elaborated on, and they just end up as pale people running up toward the Van every five or ten minutes. The characters are your bland, run of the mill individuals you see in every crime movie from here to the east end. And are they the carbon copy lot you've seen all the time. Its a group of profane men, who have nothing relevant to say, driving to nowhere, for an hour, and that's the main narrative of the film.We then follow the group to a windmill, where they bump into an old grandma, who swears way too much, because hey! to the makers this is comedy gold, everyone finds profane old people funny.Fair dues to the makers, its a shoestring budget of a film, and I was surprised at the budget, but really, they should have spent more time on a decent script, rather than an exploitative title.
Paul Magne Haakonsen Alright, well first of all forget all about the DVD cover, because it is putting it on thickly, selling a product that is quite far from what you see on the DVD cover. That being said, then don't get me wrong, because this is not an all together bad movie. Sure there are far better zombie movies available, but there are also far worse zombie movies available. So why doesn't "Gangsters, Guns & Zombies" stand out in the zombie genre? Well, simply put, because it delivers nothing and once the movie is finished you shrug your shoulders and think 'what was the purpose of this movie?' For a zombie movie, then there wasn't much gore or rot in the movie. It was initially a clone of "28 Days Later", just in a scaled-down version. And the zombies were fast, agile runners with some very red blood splattered on their faces. And given the total lack of rot and decay, I can only assume that this movie is taking place early on in an apocalyptic dead rising in England. The acting in the movie was adequate, but I can't really say that there was anything outstanding or memorable here. Which just added fuel to the mediocrity of the movie. As a huge fan of all things zombie, I buy just about anything I come across that involve the shambling, rotting dead, and truth be told, then my collection holds a great many numbers of movies that have been watched once and will most likely never be watched again, as they failed to impress. And I must admit that "Gangsters, Guns & Zombies" is going to fall into that group. It just didn't impress in any way. (Perhaps maybe aside from the cheap price on the Amazon market place.)The DVD cover blatantly brandished "zombie lovers are in for a bloody treat!" - yeah, alright. I wonder what movie that reviewer was watching, because it couldn't rightfully be "Gangsters, Guns & Zombies". For hardcore fans of the zombie genre, "Gangsters, Guns & Zombies" is worth watching once, and that is about it for this movie - sadly.
trashgang I was looking forward to see this UK zombedy. Comedy coming out of the UK is mostly always big fun. Lesbian Vampire Killers (2009), Doghouse (2009) were fun but sadly this one here I can't add to that list. It all looked so well from the start but the further you move into this flick the worser it get.The funny parts just doesn't work and adding a bit of romance made it all boring too. The first minutes did work when a bunch of gangsters are confronted with zombies but after a while we do see the same again and again. The acting was mediocre. Things what should be funny (the part with the grandma and stepdaughter) wasn't funny at all. I must say that some shots were nicely done like the camera added on a gun while shooting a zombie looked great and even reminded me of The Evil dead (1981). What bothered me the most was the use of CGI for blood in some shots. When the end credits are running you can see that they had fun making this flick, sadly it wasn't funny for the viewer. It did had all elements to make it absurd but it never did. It's like the title says, it's about gangsters, they do use guns and sometimes there are zombies running around and attacking but the cohesion between the three wasn't there.Gore 2/5 Nudity 0/5 Effects 2/5 Story 2/5 Comedy 1/5
