Synopsis

Diane Blaine has the face of a movie star. Unfortunately, fallen star/tabloid queen Jamie Stephens already made it famous. Hollywoods constant rejection due to what Diane refers to as "TJS" ("Too Jamie Stephens") has made her bitter, frustrated....and, yes, whiny. Co-worker/boyfriend Jack Sanders doesn't help matters. His idea of ambition is letting it ride. Now he's in major debt to a trigger-happy mobster who, interestingly enough, has a thing for Jamie Stephens. Jack's only way out? Convince Diane to be Jamie and wipe out the debt having one meal with a made man. It's literally the performance of her life. With Jack's on the line.

Reviews

Elizabeth I adore Chris Kattan. But I generally don't have high expectations for his movies. This one surprised me and left me in hysterics the whole time from his cuteness particularly in the first half to Norm MacDonald's sleaziness and the raunchiness of making a porn scene and other SNL alum such as Horatio Sanz, David Spade & Chris Parnell. Was also great to see Kattan work with Chazz Palminteri again, as they did in a Night at the Roxbury, but this time Palminteri's not such a friendly guy! Nicky Whelan was fabulous playing two roles. So if you're a goofball and looking for something to watch, I recommend this. Just make sure there are no kids in the room!
businessgypsy Stuck in Antwerp on a rainy day when this film appeared, oddly, on the Prime Network "family" channel. While absolutely not kid friendly, I found this film a well paced recreation of classic screwball comedies, from Bringing Up Baby to The Owl and the Pussycat.Surprising cast, clever cameos. All the female eye candy is smart and tough, not victimized and in need of rescue. Nicky Whelan is my new favorite as the pragmatic Diane Blaine. Norm MacDonald's character Sid delivers a classic running deadpan joke that rivals "The Aristocrats" for filth and fun. Not high art, but a real good time that doesn't patronize or front.I'd be surprised if something in this movie didn't offend you, but more surprised if it didn't simultaneously make you laugh. A bit of an inside joke for those of us who have lived in or around Hollywood and are familiar with the weird business of getting entertainment work, but not so much that other viewers will mind. If you have a couple of hours to have some harmless (but decidedly adult) fun, check out Hollywood and Wine.
bena3-130-291995 I really enjoyed this movie. exactly right for some light silly fun. Norm Macdonald steals the show with his gross, but spoken like a poem, porno terminology. Slapstick, great acting, beautiful new female star and quite a hot older star, Ms. Esterbrook. From Guidos to talk shows to spatula fun. From mistaken identity to tucking to tea bagging. I saw it in a theater and the rest of the audience really seemed to be having a great time too. However, this is the perfect film for at home watching. Some of the physical comedy needs to be rewound and watched again just so you don't miss something. Plus, you might want to break for some honey baked ham with a chaser of chocolate syrup.
jcmf27 i was hoping that this movie cheer me up a little bit but oh my god, don't waste your time on this when are hundreds of really funny movies out there i cant remember a single laugh or a really funny moment this is the only review here and probably the only one i hope they stop making this kind of movies like this especially with a cast that have some better ones in the past. maybe was the plot, not a interesting story. watch it, if you want to agree with me and add your own conclusions I'm a fan of spade but he was only like 3 minutes on it, i didn't stop the movie just to write this and prevent you, i hope someone agree with me on this one..
