Synopsis

Kickassia is a six-part feature-length original online film created by Doug Walker and the rest of the gang at Channel Awesome (including the Nostalgia Chick, Linkara, Spoony, the Cinema Snob, Marz Gurl, and Angry Joe) in honor of the site's second anniversary. The plot concerns the Nostalgia Critic, eager to own his very own country, deciding to organize an assault on the Republic of Molossia a one-acre independent nation within the continental United States and usurp its president, Kevin Baugh. Hilarity, as well as movie references and heavy artillery, ensue.

qeboqebson-97486 Molossia, also known as the self-proclaimed Republic of Molossia, is a micro-nation, founded by Kevin Baugh and headquartered solely from his home near Dayton, Nevada. The Republic of Molossia has claimed itself a nation but it is not officially recognized as a country by the United Nations or any country"-I read it on Wikipedia and was surprised that,"country" molozya really exists :D I do not know, why people in reviews say, that "this is a bad movie","why?what for?" etc. I experienced a lot of fun watching "this",it was great, but I agree, that this is mostly for fans of nostalgia critic, nostalgia chick and so on. It was funny and in other ways history of all big emperors-This all forms of dictatorship magnificent satire:) watch "this" and enjoy!
Ace Rimmer I have no idea how TGWTG fans can even stomach this thing. Myself included, as a die-hard follower of the team I can say it was particularly disappointing. Despite the fact they went great lengths to try and accommodate some sort of jokes which are fresh and new, most of the time we are forced to endure the same sort of rehashed jokes from respective shows and the usual gimmicks. With couple people on the team doing a decent job at keeping up an atmosphere, the script fails completely and ruins the whole thing for everyone...This movie is a great example that what makes a short form of fast paced 'critical'-piece funny, won't really work in a longer version, tiring the audience. The goofyness and slapstick becomes boring after first 10 minutes, transforming into unbearable drag where a bunch of clearly talented and charismatic individuals are forced to humiliate themselves like some sort of circus clowns, while the "awkward moment" humour just keeps on boggling every scene with unbearable repetition. 90% of jokes are almost exactly that:Couple people talk about some ridiculous subject or a problem, then they start coming up with ideas/solutions, suddenly someone gives an suggestion that is a joke for everyone to ridicule, painting a person who actually agrees with that as an awkward individual. That very moment someone thinks it's a really a good idea or accepts the given suggestion as a norm, thus creating an "awkward moment", where everyone pause. In the end the scene is completed with a mildly funny pun, mostly in form of cheesy one-liner. If you ever wanted to participate in a drinking game, do watch Kickassia and each time the pattern above appears, take a sip of beer, you'll be smashed alcoholic for the rest of your life after first 20 minutes. Then it get's only worse... The plot is miserable and action on screen barely follows any coherent idea, it's neither involving, nor funny, and worse yet is the constant braking of 4th wall. I wouldn't mind it if it was applied properly, to enhance the juxtaposition of the jokes, but instead it's used in most dreadful of ways, where after almost every 'skit' characters turn towards audience and go "Hey! It was a joke! Got it?! It was a reference to one of the tropes in our show! Remember? Remember?! It was really funny! Cause it was a joke! You got it? Got it, right?!" - of course, that's to put it bluntly, but you get the idea. This is a dreadful watch even for a fan. It retains no value and only proves that producers could take some lessons from other directors, like Uwe Boll for instance, who by comparison, looks really good now.
sugarplum27 People are being far too harsh on this film! It is meant to be one big joke. Kickassia is movie written out of clichés that are present in the movies, shows and video games the people of TGWTG review.Costumes that are worse than the ones found at Spencer's, obviously simple solutions ignored in favor of more complicated plans, women who are competent suddenly turning into damsels in distress, these things are all in the movie. You think its a coincidence that these also happen to be things that The Critic rants about? They made a movie they would rip apart in their reviews, that's the joke! I saw it as basically one big wink to the fans.If you're looking for something that is Oscar worthy then maybe you shouldn't be looking for it in an online movie made to be silly!
metabogy This isn't a major movie production. This was a special episode on That Guy With The Glasses featuring most of the members of the website. It doesn't even belong on IMDb, so not sure why it's here.If you don't understand the inside jokes, you won't like it. But I laughed out loud almost continuously. Some of the acting is horrendous, but, again, it's a parody, and most of the time it's on purpose. That said, Brad Jones steals the show with this movie. I could see him starring in an actual bigger budget movie. He is made of rule and epicness.I give this movie a 9, because I rate comedies on how much they make me laugh, and this one gets a 9. I 'got' almost every joke, having watched pretty much everything on the website, and it was almost always well done.Win!
