aravind6010 Saw this movie long time back, its a simple, feel good love story of a 10 year old kid :)A 10 year old boy, goes through school and his parents decide to separate and start to meet new people. In the meantime a cute little girl (RoesMary!! - U will definitely remember this name after seeing the movie :D ) joins in his class. The boy instantly falls in love with her and the story continues with a good pace and good humor and feel good factor. Through the movie, he learns about love, the happiness and pain it gives. Nothing much in the movie to elaborate, watch it and thank me later :) Review - A simple feel good movie, a definite #WeekEndPick - 8/10 :)
shark-43 This film is so enjoyable - Josh Hutcherson (who is a really good actor - Bridge to Terabithia & Zathura) plays the lead and carries the whole movie -he plays a young carefree New Yorker who likes basketball and video games and doesn't even think about girls until he....meets....Rosemary Telesco. This film about first love is poignant and funny and sweet without being sappy. The girl is played by a young actress (this was her first film and she's really good) named Charlie Ray and the chemistry between her and Josh is amazing. The script has so many funny lines about love and crushes and cooties and kisses and holding hands and pain and worry and this big ball of stress called LOVE. The film is also a love letter to Manhattan and there's nothing wrong with that - the cinematography is beautiful - Central Park and the Upper West Side have never looked so good. Please understand - this isn't a kiddie movie - it's a sweet comedy that happens to have two kids in the leads. Check it out.
tiger160297 I am not saying this is a bad movie, but I just didn't like it.10 year old Gabe finds first love in Manhattan and experiments with it. But when he discovers the bad side to love he gets confused and tells her he loves her.I did not enjoy this film. It was really funny and light hearted. It deserves a 7 because of acting, being extremely cheesy and me not enjoying it. It was funny, charming, and cheesy but I didn't like it. While my whole family enjoyed but I was just a little disappointing. I recommend this romantic comedy to any one with a free Saturday night and is in the mood for something that will keep you from falling asleep. But there are much more movies that can replace this one.
Brian T. Whitlock (GOWBTW) Love in New Yok brings back memories of my first love. Only I was 7 years-old. A young man named Gabe(Josh Huterson) meets his friend in karate class named Rosemary(Charlie Ray). They once knew each other in kindergarten, now hey go to karate class together. Those two were an item, just like me when I was in 2nd Grade. The karate teacher knew they like each other, only Gabe wasn't man-enough to show it. For Gabe it's hard because his parents are divorced, and it's his first time on knowing love. Most boys think it's gross when a girl kisses him. I would say, "WHIMPS!" I never got grossed out when my girlfriend kissed me. When Rosemary was getting a new sparring partner, Gabe thinks they were the new item. However, he was a jerk realizing that she didn't like him. He cries and cries when he hurt her. I was man enough to admit being a jerk when I called her a name I regretted. Took me two days to say I was sorry. Then she was going to a private school, and he learns that out of all the girls, she was the one he ever loved. Love is strange, it hurts, and it heals, this movie is perfect for me. Simply because it brought back memories. 4 out of 5 stars!
