ddo-8 I began to watch this movie with a skeptical mind after seeing all the positive (to say the least) reviews, thinking they were some sort of elaborate joke. However, after the opening scenes, I immediately fell victim to the beauty and seamless art form presented by Dal Chele. Even though Wysteria was a pony, I instantly connected with her on the deepest, most human levels. I oft forgot that she, nay, any of the characters were ponies at all. All I saw in their complex, colorful forms was excellence, depth, and pure emotion.Truly, Jeanne Romano and Dal Chele alike are Michelangelos in our modern era. The Princess promenade is the magnum opus that will define their careers as director and writer. The actors were cast perfectly, and never once failed in communicating the profound profiles that defined these ever wonderfully crafted ponies. The divinely talented cast, crew, and creators of this film have certainly raised the bar for future cinema and may re-define the world of fiction. I do not exaggerate in saying that I believe this piece of visual poetry will help bring us forth into a new age of art and storytelling, even if it is a mere stepping stone upward into a 21st century Renaissance. However, the biggest way this film affected me was in its ability to truly inspire! I have been trying to write a novel over the past several years, but seem to fall short time and time again, both in content and motivation. After seeing The Princess Promenade, I now understand what it means to create art, to bear forth a fiction that can feel more real to than our own very lives! More importantly, I have since seeing this quit drinking, having found that the true substance life can be found not in a bottle, but all around us, and in our own selves. Also, after watching it again with my wife, was able to re-establish the love in our relationship. Thank you, Wysteria. Thank you.
eddiesmyth3 After reviewing the reviews in the review section, I have decided to put my words where my mouth is (is that the right saying?who knows) and give it a go, this film is what we as a group of equestrian philanthropists have been waiting for, to say this is magical would be the repetition of the views of many, as we say in Glasgow, it is 'pure toilet'. I speak for the group of 20 of us who have now watched this movie three times together before we go to our dance competitions in the Burrell room, and I mean it when I say, crash bang wallop, what a video! Whether you are old, young, ugly, a hand model or even trans-gender, you will love this movie, give it a chance, you will not regret it.Lots of sparkle, Glatas
ponyfan I still have difficulty believing that a cartoon, much less a catchily titled "family" one, could have obliterated so many of my oft-cherished ideals and deep seated beliefs, while simultaneously effortlessly and cleanly non-paradoxically validating and augmenting the deepest yearnings of my soul. Without giving too much away, "My Little Pony: The Princess Promenade" begins as a seemingly "day in the life of" style animated docu-drama chronicling the humble life of what is, in the beginning, an "ordinary" pony (albeit one that talks).. To give any more away, or to even attempt to prepare one for, let alone complement, this epic achievement with the comparative flummery of mere literary description would be an exercise in supreme futility, at best. Though without seeing the movie, I would argue that _any_ contextual appreciation of the nature of that statement is simply impossible. You really just _have_ to see it. This reality shattering, yet undeniably life affirming masterpiece is logically the posthumous pinnacle of Søren Kierkegaard's life work. I'm still reeling!
Midnight_Gypsi When I first came across this movie here on IMDb, and as I first read through the reviews and the message board, I honestly thought that it all had to be a troll joke. However, fate made me watch it, and I owe my life to this movie! It is truly a life-changing movie, and the more you watch it, the more you get out of it. There are many hidden, subtle messages that can be found within it's glorious beauty. (I have bought several copies off of Amazon)I can honestly say, watching this movie has been the most inspiring, motivating thing I have ever done. Such a great message is given to all of it's viewers, and it has made me rethink some of my future plans...You see, about a year ago, I went through a traumatic experience brought on by one of my brother's "friends". When I found out that I pregnant with a rape baby, I thought I could never love it and saw it best to abort. However, the night before the day I had planned on getting an abortion, I saw part of the movie on the "videos being watched now" section of youtube. Something pulled me towards it - I think it was God speaking to me to watch it, to save my child - and I did, and I was fortunate enough to find the rest of the movie on youtube that night, as well.As I watched this movie, I came upon a fantastic realization; the world is a fantastic place, and I would be able to love my child, as everything and everyone can be loved, and there is good in everything. My Little Pony: The Princess Promenade has shown me that doom and gloom and easily be turned into joy and happiness!I have since given birth to my wonderful daughter, and I named her after Wysteria - the main character. (If I would have given birth to a baby boy, he would've either been called Wysterio, or Spike (after the dragon). When I gave birth to Wysteria, and when I first held her, she let out a loud cry, but in that loud cry it sounded as though she shouted, "THANKS", the word exact! The room fell quiet and no one could believe what they had just heard, we all thought we were crazy. But we weren't. She was although thankful for this amazing, timeless movie.
